Fans of Tomorrow War should get excited, a new companion book is coming soon from Ambush Alley Games

BY DAGGER OR TALON, our first companion book for Tomorrow's War is in the final stages of development and should be available for pre-order by the end of March.

The book examines the use of aliens and "enhanced" Special Operations Forces. For those who are interested in our Tomorrowverse setting, it also includes the historical details of man's first clash with inimical aliens plus 10 scenarios set against that backdrop.

Here's a sneaky peek at the cover:

And here I thought we were being clever and getting the future out of the desert!

There are lots of cool pictures inside, but even more importantly, there are lots of cool scenarios, new Attributes for your alien and ESOF (Enhanced Special Operations Forces – soldiers who've been modified through genetic engineering, cybernetics, etc.), and some new unit organizations!

I think it's going to be pretty cool – I'm biased or course.

Shawn.

I've been meaning to pick up tomorrows war. This might be the push I need! Is this a stand alone book? Or will you need the other book to play it? I don't know how the expansions work for their other rule books.

Whoa, the official cover art looks to be based on Pig Iron miniatures.

"...and special thanks to Judgedoug!" - Alessio Cavatore "Now you've gone too far Doug! ... Too far... " - Rick Priestley "I've decided that I'd rather not have you as a member of TMP." - Editor, The Miniatures Page "I'd rather put my testicles through a mangle than spend any time gaming with you." - Richard, TooFatLardies "We need a Doug Craig in every store." - Warlord Games "Thank you for being here, Judge Doug!" - Adam Troke

Probably is seeing that PI has a bit of a partnership with Ambush Alley with TW

.. And those horned turtle-like aliens are also by some other maker I can't identify right now. Seems like two nods in one.

Definitely getting this when it comes out. We play our own background for TW, one that pits posthumans versus "normals", so the rules for enhanced soldiers will probably come in handy.

War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

If it's like the rulebook, there will be pictures of several companies' miniatures inside in several scales. GZG is making an official miniature line for the game, but word is that they will still feature several companies miniatures in the book.

It's not a stand alone title, it's a supplement that requires the purchase of the Tomorrow's War Rulebook game to play.

Still, at significantly less than a 40k softcover codex the TW rulebook is remarkably affordable for a full color hardback volume.

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

The other Tomorrows War book was great, really nice template for some varied near-future sci-fi games. Hopefully this will add a bit more depth to the game, and fill out on the aliens (which were rather sparse in the original).

I can't say I especially felt that aliens and special forcesin TW were desperately missing rules, but I welcome any new stuff for the game. Still, I think I'd have preferred a campaign or expanded scenarios book.

I must get TW back on the table, though. It's a really excellent platoon-level game with bags of interesting detail.
