Is this possible? How would it be done? Would it simply fall off?

Just looking for ideas.

Thanks.

Uh...

Can you even reliably place Thunderhawks on stands? They're pretty huge...

I'm thinking that the bigger risk would be overweighting one side when you pose the model for a bank and having it fall over.

The best stand for superheavy flyers is a camera tripod. A single pole is to unstable for large models like that.

What about three Ball joints connected to the mini so it makes its own tri-pod?

regardless of the size of the plastic flying box, I imagine if you put some substantial weight in the base it will be posable to bank just fine. Just need some weight down in the base.?

This is a good one:

I think they also have a much shorder one too.

Rock solid stability, you can put it at angles and secure it with a screw. Can attach to the flyer with a screw-in base.

This is the one I use for a smaller heavy flyer:

Somewhere in south-central England.

The first run Piranha kits had a ball and socket jointed stand but they are much smaller models than a Thunderhawk.

It could be done with a set like this:

£13.00 isn't much considering the cost of the GW model.

I use multiple tripod stands for a digitial camera from ebay. You can get them for a dollar each from china free shipping. They work just fine for mine, but my hawk is scratch built, so its like 1/4 of the weight.

I am working on a commission to mount a thunderhawk to a stand, and i have to say, this thing is a BEAST!!!

It is very large, and very heavy.

I am working on a few designs, but it is going to involve some serious metal bolts, a 1" acrylic rod, and a very heavily weighted base. Even then, I am not sure I could do it.

If you want a ball joint, it would need an excessive amount of strength (think industrial quality machine mounting)

best of luck, and keep us posted...
