The midpoint of the campaign is approaching, and West Wind has released a "road map" of future stretch goals and unlocks. A lot of interesting stuff there, though unfortunately the pace of the campaign is now slowed down to the extent that it's unlikely to make it past £60k (which is the "undead Holmes and Watson" level, at least). It just doesn't have the "pull" of something like Zombicide or Wild West Exodus.

I am curious about that last bit, though? Which Mars? Tripods or Green Men?

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Damn, I'm really intrigued by a lot of stuff on that road map! Who is Great Uncle Thulu?!

There's a lot of time left on this; I'm sure it will go quite a bit beyond £60K at least. To be honest I hadn't heard about EotD before I noticed this Kickstarter, but I went in and grabbed one of the £101 early birds; many of the minis just look like so much fun!

I had a good look at this one last week, but don;t think theres much incentive to go in at the £30 or £55 levels once you add in the £30 to cover the rulebook cost. Might as well wait for it to appear in the shops and choose exactly what I would like. Missing the (not great) ltd edition isn't a biggie.

Hmmm, yeah that might be true. It's probably the 'Requiem' levels (from £74 and up) that will be the best deals here as it's only those that will get the stretch goal free minis. There are four of those at the moment (Tatu, Jade Dragon, Aisha and Red), and I think I read that there might be as many as 14 if this goes 'all the way'.

Yeah, the FoF levels aren't very good value, I feel, which is why I decided to update to the Requiem 18 myself. The rulebook looks pretty nice from what I've seen, but I decided the PDF will suffice for me, and the starter box + 18 minis off Requiem gets me two gangs to try out (Gentlemen and Supernatural Branch). Printing out the relevant rules sections of it shouldn't be that expensive and making my own compact and disposable rulebook would actually be more handy than carrying a giant hardback, especially if I were to demo the game out at a local con (which I reckon might be a good idea).

Of course, having to pick my 18 points' worth of stuff is gonna be a tough one :-D I'm thinking I'll go with the first Bobbies set with Abberline and the guys with truncheons, the Gentlemen set with rifles and gatling guns, and then some of the single minis with the remaining 5 points. Definitely Captain Nemo, the Invisible Man and Jack the Ripper

I might also skip the rulebook actually; since I have no experience with this game, I'm thinking I can start out with the PDF and see if I like it. Minis I'll mostly pick the ones that strike my fancy, but with some thought towards building factions. I grabbed one of the £101 early bird levels, but as more and more stuff is being revealed, I'm feeling that it won't be a problem filling those 35+5 picks with stuff I want. So many fun minis!

I'm also trying hard to figure out uses for these minis outside of EotD, to justify my spendings without having tested the game. Queen Victoria with a minigun is bound to eventually wind up in a high level, plane-hopping D&D campaign, right?

(PS. There's one of those £101 early bird levels available right now if anyone's interested.)

Have you checked out the quickstart rules on West Wind's site yet? The Jack the Ripper scenario? It looked pretty straightforward to me, and the basic statistics isn't that dissimilar to GW style, though it uses ten-siders. I agree the hardback rulebook's kind of pricey, and I figure I'll rather spend that £30 on minis at this point, especially since the PDF is already included in the Requiem bundle.

I admit to being impatient, I really want to see the funding level move upwards :-P There isn't really that many new backers showing up, it just looks like the existing backer base is buying all those carriages :-) And that's a finite resource, with Kicktraq only showing 0-5 new backers per day anymore, which is why I estimated the total would not climb much past 60k. Then again, last minute stuff might well happen.

I believe there are 10 free stretch figures in total, should we get that far, so Requiem and above seem to be the best deals. As are the multi-vehicle add-ons*.

I went to visit them last week and the stuff I've seen so far looks fantastic (The Doctor, Mycroft, Victoria with gatling gun), time machine, walker and most of the vehicles.

*It's also worth noting that they are aiming to have variations on the cabs, so the 4 hansoms for £40 should hopefully get you 4 subtley different coaches (as in different luggage and trim), rather than 4 identical casts.

I see they've added the option to pledge for additional points of Requiem miniatures, which is something a lot of people asked for, since there was so much room between the £100 and £200 levels. Hopefully that will get us to the Iron Head Ned pledge level at last, since it's utterly stalled otherwise.

This new option (which I agree was a good idea) did indeed give us a nice little bump yesterday, and the £52K stretch goal was achieved (Gentleman's Coach and Steam Velocipede add-ons available, and rules for 'The Order of the Dragon' added). It has been kind of stalled for the last week or so, but that is not unusual for the middle period of Kickstarters. There are still 20 days to go, and I feel absolutely sure we will get to 'Deathlock Bones and The Bad Doctor' at least, but probably quite a bit further. If I may guess, I'm pegging us at around £80K!

Looks like yesterday ended up as being a bumper day for the KS in general, as we're now at over 53k, and Iron Head Ned is looking ever closer.

In today's updates, West Wind has revealed the first concept art for the Clickers, a faction of hive-mind clockwork automata (whose rules and figures currently set as the £67k stretch goal). It's looking very promising, IMO.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Wow, those Clickers do look pretty cool! £67K, here we come!
The road map has them down as "New faction: The Clickers; minis & PDF". Do you guys think that means they will come as a whole new faction box, like the ones already available for £20? Or will they be more like the Hell Division (three minis for £9)? Do we know?

Also, the £55K stretch has now been passed, and Iron Head Ned is a freebie!

I'm guessing the Clickers will get a faction box of their own, at some point if not during the campaign. The one thing that slightly concerns me is that it looks like the Gentlemen's clubs appear the most compatible with all the zany steampunk supertech, so anyone playing, say Holy Orders or Vampires might feel a bit left out.

I guess that's just a case of practicality and kinda fits into the fluff (I can only really see the Gentlemans club factions having that sort of thing; the rest of the factions seem more traditional).

I think you'd struggle to come up with a kit of each bit of tech that you could use with any faction, and having a sculpt for each faction for each bit of tech is a lot of work. It'd be cool to do though, I'd be more likely to use them with my Brotherhood if there was suitable models.

I'm sure you could easily make the case for gentleman like members in your faction to use the supertech and fit it in within the fluff, such as needing to bring in someone with the expertise or whatever.

A bunch of exciting stuff has been added here! First of all, £57K has been passed, so the Men of Hell Division, London Omnibus and token set are now available. We also have info on a bunch of stuff that will become available at £62K (The Bedlam Brotherhood, Mechana-Bat, Steam-Knight, Steam-Gyrocopter and carry case), and a sneak peak of the £65K freebie (White Rabbit). The Bedlam Brotherhood is a must-have for me!

We're now only about £700* away from getting Deathlocke Bones and the Bad Doctor (free for Requiem +):

Unfortunately, this positive trend did not last. The campaign has lost over £1000 today, from a handful of big pledges cancelling, it seems. Today's losses pretty much wiped the last two days' upward trend. On the positive news front, here's one of the vehicle kits from the campaign, the brougham.

Quite a few campaigns look to have taken pretty big hits over the last few days, for stuff that's nearly over, to those only just out of the early growth phase

not sure why (unless it's Zombicide? but then I never saw such a major slump even when KD was pulling in even bigger numbers)

Hmmm, that is quite odd. It was kind of sad to see this slip from £60,200 down to under £59,000 (we're back up to £59,300 now though).

I really love the look of that Gentleman's Coach by the way!

Sorry if this is an obvious question, but when is the hardback rulebook going to be sent out after the KS has ended? Will it contain all of the additional rules that the PDF is supposed to be getting as well?

I'm still very tempted by the KS, but I think I'll just pledge for the rulebook and will buy the faction I like (Scotland Yard) when it goes on general release.

IIRC, in an interview with the "Meeples and Miniatures" podcast about the campaign, it was mentioned that all the pledges would be sent in one mailing, presumably in June. Presumably this would also apply to rulebooks.

The hardbook rulebook has been out for around a year, Fenrir - I picked it up at last year's Triples event.

I'd gotten the impression any additional rules were going to be PDFs for now, with a possible print supplement down the line.

Another of the coaches has been painted up: the Hansom Cab (a driver will be included but hasn't been sculpted yet). Looking good!

I don't believe there are enough changes to justify a new print run. Some new content/tweaks may be added to the rules PDF but most of it is likely to be in the form of PDF supplements available free from their website.

I'd imagine the PDF's will be sent out fairly soon after the KS ends, and the models and hardback book will be sent out in a single batch whenever everything is ready (about June).

I've got the existing book and it's pretty good

A couple of fun updates! First off, some more info on the £67K stretch goal:

Also, the Steam-Exoskeleton (unlocked at £77K):

There's 7 days left on this now, and I'm really starting to realise that it's going to be hard deciding on what to get here with my (sadly not unlimited) budget. I was thinking of doing 35+5 of the Requiem models, and then throwing in extra for perhaps two of the original starter boxes. But I'm now tempted to get at least one of the carriages, the Bedlam Brotherhood and Clickers both look really interesting, and that Steam-Exoskeleton also looks pretty fun... What are you guys getting?
