First of all let me tell you something: He is expensive and he was a real to glue together. However as soon as I started painting him, I immediately forgot anything bad about him. He is now easely one of my most favourite sculpts and paintjobs.
I went for a more warped look on the crystals. Ist basically only Hawk Turquoise and then constantly drybrushed with more White. The red parts were made with a trick which I learned in the WD which came out with the last Beastmen rulebook.
I have washed the inner parts of the Cloth with a green wash. This gave the red a really nice, classical touch. The warpstone hammer is Deathworld Forest constantly drybrushed with White and then washed with Athonian Camoshade.
The Skin is Incubi Darkness highlighted with Administratum Grey and then washed with Nuln Oil.

C&C is welcome and appreciated. Tell me what you think about him^^

Dangit, I just noticed that the blood on his hand looks black on the Picture. Its actually Tamya Red mixed with Abbadon Black to get a darker blood effect. Thanks for the comment however^^

I use that same stuff for my blood. I do the same with the black but then I go over it again and a little further with just clear red. It gives it a great effect. You can check out my thread here to see what I mean.

About the loincloth. The tip from the WD says that when shading clothes , especially warm colours like red, yellow or orange, one should try to implement one last shade with the complementary colour because that gives a soft yet bright finish. Here I have shaded red with green, blue would be shaded with orange and so on.
I miss such articles from the WD, they were such a nice Thing :(

Haha. It is a great model though, and I don't even complain much about the prices, not until this year anyway.. I figure the models last forever so they are worth a decent amount, but 50 Euros is taking the piss for one guy in my book. I reckon maybe 30 is a fair price?

As I said though great paint job, and a lovely if pricey model.

And that's for those who are lucky enough to be able to purchase Games Workshop at discounted european prices. Here in Australia he costs $96 which is 74.31 Euros... and it STILL sells.

I'm afraid this is true.

it is human nature, most of you do not really care nor understand because it's happening at the other side of the world, but this is the reality here:

we are also forbidden to buy from independent retailers abroad, or rather they are forbidden to sell to us.

So we're left with ebay.

That shouldn't distract from your beautiful painting. Just consider that any australian painter would have been HAPPY to pay your 50 euros.

i keep reading about this "opposite" colour to shade, and I am getting mixed results, any tips on what "not to do"?
Mine come out with a clear ambivalent colour of red and green badly clashing with each others.

What not to do? Hrmmm. First of all, apply the complementary colour shade at the end of painting the Cloth like usually ex. Scab red base and the highlighted to bloodred and then washed with Badab Black. After Badab black has dried, take some Thraka green and dilute it with watre (3 parts wash, 1 part water is my recipe) and wash only the recesses.
However there are colours which are a bit trickier to shade with this technique.
Be sure not to overdo it with the complementary wash.
Another tip I can give is, mix the green wash with a bit of the previous wash (If used) to mute it down.
It will still give a nice and smooth finish without clashing to much. One final tip I can give is do NOT work into bright colours. Like highlighting yellow into sunburst yellow and then shading with a violet/purpur mix. That wont work. The base colour of the Cloth should already be a dull and mute tone.My red for example was only highlighted to khorne red and then washed twice with nuln oil before getting a wash of Athonian Camoshade.
Easiest way is shading with Agrax Earthshade or Nuln Oil.
Then wash with the wished colour (athonian Camoshade, etc). The mute colour of the Cloth immediately gets smoother and in a way brighter.
Ist kinda hard to explain how or why to do it and I am by far not the best teacher, so thats the best I can say about it.
Maybe I'll make a Video tutorial on that one.
