Daring Dark Eldar Raider Rider

Today I bought a crisis battle suit, just for fun. I have always thought they looked cool, and I finally went and got one. As soon as I opened the box, I fell I love with it. It was fun to build, looks fun to paint (I've only base coated), and although I don't play tau, the jump and shoot tactics sound cool. What is your most enjoyable model you ever built, painted and use?

"Archon Yulliptidon sat apon a throne made of polished glass, which gleamed with magnificence in the rays of the dying suns, beautifully suspended above the the many razor sharp peaks that where Commorragh. The archon held within his hands a a delicate pyramid of sculpted crystal, from which emitted a faint glow, an echo of the soundless screams of pain belonging to countless tortured souls forever trapped within. The room in which the archon sat in was something like a throne room, but displayed apon the walls where helm of every color, but all the same in size and shape. Some bore eagles on their foreheads, and others still contained the decapitated heads of their previous owners. Two huge, beautifully carved iron double doors, engraved with intricate runes of pain and suffering, opened at the far end of the room, to reveal a tall, elegant dark eldar warrior, clad in armor made from bone and flesh. "lord Yulliptidon, you asked for my presence?" Said the arrival, " to what do I owe the pleasure?". The archon raised his elongated head, skin as pale as a full moon, eyes as vivid as a horrible nightmare. " I did not ask for you, Thrayon, I ordered your presence. Do not think to much for your self, for truly, you are not much past a feral that one would find on the streets. As for why I have ordered you to my palace, it is because their is a task that I wish you to preform. I wish you and you kabal to cleanse the imperial out fort of Sargosain Gastienagan." Thrayon was both aghast and interested at what the archon had just said. "Such a task would stretch my kabal to its limits, only a great reward would be enough to do a deed like this." Yulliptidon was outraged by the the proposal of a "great reward" by Thrayon, but did not let his anger show, hiding it with a cold smile that hid his evil intentions surprisingly well. The archon was was famous for never telling a lie in his life, but was very fond of veiled double speak, and this was no exception. "Do not worry, Thrayon, you shall receive what you deserve." Thrayon, happy with this outcome, left to carry out Yulliptidons task. Little did he know what was coming. Thrayon had done a thousand evil deeds, and what he deserved was a horrible death equal to to all those he had caused. Yulliptidons smiled. He was going to have fun."

So far, I'd say it's my leman russes that I've made recently.
They painted up super fast, and were super easy, thanks to my newfound understanding of washes, and best of all, with just a little bit of weathering and detail work, they look fantastic.
Plus, I've liked how they've played on the field so far. There's something just so brutally uncompromising about lascannon/multimelta vanquishers. Four shots that are pretty much guaranteed to destroy whatever they hit. All the way dead.

Great thread!
Dreadknight 1st and foremost. Love to convert him as needed and the large surfaces make it easier to paint.
Maulerfiend is fun to put together, but even more fun to paint.

Armageddon-pattern Basilisk. Beautiful interior detail, and it's always fun when you get to model the vehicle crew. Second place (and soon to be first, once I build the next one with all of the skills I've learned since my first) goes to the Minotaur. Again, awesome interior and crew, and mine has the honor of shooting down a Manta.

The CSM plastic lord/sorceror kit. I have built and painted 8 of them for now. Such a beautiful kit to build, convert, kitbash and paint.
The Forge World Legion MkIII armor set was superb. I have currently 20 of these dudes waiting to get painted.
I have enjoyed everything from FW. Super detailed, easy to build, high quality. Perfect!

If I knew how to post pics I would but my favorite was Mordrakes Ghost Knights. I used skull heads and clear tooth picks instead of legs w/ cotton at the bottom for ghostly mist. People have offered me $100.00 for my 7 Ghost Knights.
I do really like those Blood angels w/ the custom turret land raider.

My Warhound Titan. It took the better part of my Thanks giving vacation and Christmas vacation, including both weekly hobby days for every week between to complete. It took all of my modeling and painting skills and pushed me as a hobbyist. I won't do another any time soon, but now that I'm done with it, I'm glad I had this experience.

I ADORE those basilisks. Would it count as WYSIWYG closed crew compartment though?
I personally love building guardsmen. With a little creativity you can get some cool poses. I don't enjoy painting them that much, for me my Vendettas/Valkyries were the most fun to paint.

To make some Plasmavets. I love working with Resin, and FW outdid themself with this upgrade kit. It has so much character and detail, I was blown away.
I'm not much of a painter, more of a gamer, but after assembling these guys, I painted them up right away.
Always a joy to field my one painted squad.

My favourite conversion, probably my Vargaard Obyron (the guy in the middle on the top row)
although all the Crypteks were great fun to build too.
Either that, or my Inquisitorial Vendetta, which was also a lot of fun to paint with the disruptive pattern black camo.

Hmm. The most I've had building is Rhino-hulled things. They're just so easy to put together. Not fun to paint though, damned uneven plastics on vehicles. Using? Eh, well, of the Rhino-hulled things, Vindicator.
But the most fun painting was probably the DV Chaplain, so far, he turned out pretty nicely, as well. He's been pretty fun to use too, since he's done fairly well on the table. Although come to think of it my custom Marshal probably ties him.

Im rather proud of Grimaldus and his Cenobytes. They were the last set of models Ive done and I threw all my new techniques and experience into them. Quite happy with how they turned out, and I admire them all the time.
I REALLY liked working on my Stormtalon. I actually like the model, I picked it up the day it was released, and was probably the first person to post up a Talon with a BT paint scheme. Trying to top it with my Raven now.

Ork Stompa.
Awesome model to put together, with no problems and lots of choices. I also magnetized the head, so that when (or rather, IF) my opponent finally blows it up, they can remove the head in triumph!
Fun to paint (and still adding more paint--as I change up plain scratched panels into looted armor from opponents).
Totally awesome to field. The guns are insane. I use the Kustom Stompa rules with grot repairs, which drive people nuts. Plus, people always forget it is a transport! Hahahahahaha!
The stompa is everything I like about GW Orks (funny, customizable, tons of gubbins, loads of personality, and rules that focus on 'theme'), turned up to 11.

I've had a lot of fun converting up my chaos champions recently. My berserker champion with his rack-o-skulls has been doing phenomenally. He fell for the first time yesterday.... Also my new biker champion surfing his bike into battle is great fun. And even though in hindsight putting zhufor on a higher base makes him taller than a daemon prince... well... zhufor has been awesome to paint. fantastic model.
