Does anybody use Avatars of War models with their fantasy army?

I though about purchasing the AoW Goblin King to lead an army of goblins or night goblins, maybe even use the rules and make him Grom the Paunch.

I recently bought a box of AoW dwarf slayers/berserkers and I love how much more detailed they are compared to GW Dwarfs Slayers. Once I had glued them together and put them in formation they looked awesome. Hopefully I will get them painted and upload some pics soon.

For the Lion and Death to all chaos filth.

When I get round to doing my contingent of dwarfs for blackfire pass I'm certainly gonna use the slayers if not other things as well. Depends really on what the next release for dwarfs from GW.

I don't...yet. They are amazing models though, and once I get a couple games under my belt I'll look into snagging one.

The AoW owner Felix is a former GW sculptor (e.g. some Troll Slayers), that's why his models fit perfectly into a Warhammer army.
Sometimes it is better to get his products from a retailer though, as he is notoriously slow in delivering some products, esp. the newer Chaos boxes.

It's amazing that the avatars of war stuff is both cheaper and more detailed than gw stuff...I'm hoping that they dont notice this haha

My HE army uses characters for the prince (on foot) and a mage (on foot).

Heroes should be "larger than life" compared to the rank and file (which in my case tend to be mantic) - although I am bulking the army out with some oop metal figure units (swordmasters from 5th ed).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

I am looking forward to gettiing some of their chaos warriors, if they are as good as they look then they are way better than the warriors GW offer right now.
I kinda regret not buying bunch of them years ago. Heck you could get 3 40k Rhinos for £10 then - or the GW starter box of 60 minis for WHFB was £10 too. (only 6 different figures but who is complaining?)

I use the female Dark El Sorceress for my DE army (which currently has more sorceress models than I can field, ) the Vampiress, and the DE male warrior. I have been contemplating the female DE warrior and some of the dwarf characters as well, though my Dwarf Lord on Shield turned out so well that I'll be sticking with that for some time, even if I should REALLY be running Runelords or something instead.

Good news. This is the best time in the hobby. Full of promise. GW lets us down each time and we know it but secretly we're hoping that this is the edition that GW gives us a balanced game that can also be played competitively at tournaments. I'm loving it.

Don't use any Avatars of War, but I use fireforge minis as replacement men-at-arms in my Bretonnian army. GW M@A are £20 for 16. Fireforge foot sergeants are 35 euros (say £30) for 48. It's a total steal and they fit right in. I may even use their range of horses as knights, except they are a wee bit shorter on horseback. But for the foot soldiers you can' t tell the difference.

They know. Have you had a look at the general miniatures market out there right now? The only company with prices up there with GW are Privateer Press. Other companies are selling far below GW/PP prices, because those prices are frankly quite ridiculous. Have a look at games like Infinity or Malifaux, the prices might surprise you.

Honestly, if AoW have models for your army and you don't make use of them, you're doing yourself a disservice. They make these models to fit into other games (though they do have their own in mind). They're made to be extremely good Lord type miniatures, and easily surpass other individual Fantasy models on the market.

i use the corruptors of apoc as nurgle chosen, the models look amazing until you realize that they hold their weapons in a really weird way which causes them not to rank up properly...

I would if the warriors of chaos ones were available anywhere.

And if Fantasy was good enough to get me back into using my armies.
