The Warlod of Gwahir has come up really well, as has the fence. I'm liking the progress on the TK Pharaoh model as well. I'm also rather unhappy that TK are getting squatted.

OOOh! New photos while I was posting! The dip has really worked its magic on this guy and brought out the facial details very nicely. The angle on his cape is a bit crazy. Like he's standing in high winds or like he should be standing on a Disc of Tzeentch or something!

Ahh spotted that did you? He's meant for a chariot. Needed a foot boss though. Still have his ride so he may get it painted some day. It would also justify his Pike sized glaive.

Just brown ghost tint this time, too impatient to dip. Find it almost as good and I can touch it up or seal much sooner.

Pretty pleased with him overall, still kind of a rush job but I think the colors work. He will severely outclass his minions wjo are the old chunky GW skeletons with the odd Egyptian themed bit thrown in, hallmark of the tomb Kings plastics.

Really like the purple flask on his waist as well. I think he should be ridding one of those giant bone snakes that the TK have, flappy cape and all.

Back when the TK had their "second coming" I had a TK army in exactly that scheme. Looks really good Grim, have you got his chariot (is it Settra?) knocking around somewhere?

He is looking pretty spectacular sir, got a secret thing for the Egyptian thing myself.

On the cloak you just need to model large fan in front of him, he carries around for dramatic effect. Sorted.

Ehh I figure even the fighty mummylords can cast spells, he's just unleashing unholy hell or raising minions

I considered painting the Cale purple too but wanted to suggest that maybe it was made of the scarabs.

I have the foot Tomb King that I have mounted into a chariot. Would have of preferred the one you have, looks cool.

I really like your paint scheme.the various little details show up really well against the rest of the model making him really interesting to look at.

I forget why exactly but aside from two charioteers this is the extent of melee tomb Kings skeletons that I own. I think I may have 30-40 bow skeletons though. Three chariots plus the boss chariot too. I think I'll do the boss chariot some time. I'll cut and reglue the horse bit...yoke?.. go reduce it to a two horse chariot because there isn't a lot of reason to carry on with the awkward footprint for KoW.

Other stuff to paint though. Orcs. A load of 'snowy day' stuff I primed to have on hand during the winter no-prime-time. Much Infinity.

Also scenery. I need to do a test piece but I may have solved my 1' tiles for my 4*4 post apoc board. Floor tiles. About a buck a pop. Far too heavy and sturdy to slide around or warp. I just need to verify that hot glue and Spackle/plaster/other scenery stuff will properly adhere to them.

Settra looks great--very grimy and aged, which works much better than the polished and shined studio paint job.

I'm looking forward to seeing your TNT board, although I'm still waiting for battlezones to copy...

Yeah I haven't forgotten you . Just a hundred different projects vying for my hobby time.

I'll be using some battlezones for the PAB, though a slant towards redbrick.

Rainy today. May try to get the materials for my board project. Maybe the shelves too. Storing the 16+ tiles will be no joke as I doubt many are gonna stack.


Torn between orcs and starting on a random primed batch of minis. Even got a giant. Obviously infinity too but I won't paint those under suboptimal conditions. I'll still basically rush them but I won't do it in bad light or shaky table conditions.

That batch of TK looks great, Grim. Very well done. Any plans to expand them into an army down the line?

Thanks! I have a block or two of archers so up to 4 troops of those, three chariots though I dunno what those do in undead KoW list. Maybe the not tk list huh. Oh and setra chariot . a statue from reaper. So I may sometime .

What do you do for blocks of 10 archers when you're doing your lotr troops? Just a tray with 8 guys and if its 10mm too deep so be it?

There are chariots in the Empire of Dust list in Uncharted Empires, so you could bring them in as allies if you want.

I so have to figure out Kings of War as well as 8th edition Warhammer for all of my armies so I can get the most use out of them.

Mummies. Lol. Settra looks good, but that cape? Blown by an unseen breeze The violet/gold combo works very well.

Exactly that.

Tomb kings should never be forgot.

The wind-blown cape would fit in well with a unit of Mantic mummies. Assuming you could get them to rank up, that is.
