KotOR
More filler combat = superior game?
The lack of Planescape Torment in this thread is appaling.
Lol, I found the story of KotOR2 appalling, half the characters I actually hated, many of the maps looked awful, and an incredibly boring as climax. The only thing I think that KotOR 2 did even okay was the combat looks much better and Onderan

That's your opinion. The main complaint about the game was that it was unfinished and buggy at points. The graphics were improved slightly, the maps weren't extremely worse than KotOR, the characters come down to preference, the story comes down to preference, and the leveling system was undoubtedly improved.
Most people do prefer KotOR to KotOR2, but enjoy both games. There's a lot of people (a noticable minority) that prefer the second game. KotOR 2 is probably thematically the darkest Star Wars game ever made and KotOR is a typical Jedi saves the day story. I doubt the playerbase for Star Wars games really wants anything other than the heroic, black and white story.

What? You can be a pretty evil arse in the game if you want to, and the ending can be pretty far from Jedi saves the day.

It is my opinion thats true lol
I dont really care how dark the story is, I care about what Im actually doing. That why I liked KotOR, it felt extremely important while KotOR 2 was very "who cares" in my eyes (the main story of finding the Jedi Masters)
Graphics were indeed improved (though a lot of the maps looked unfinished, had they had more time this wouldnt have been a problem) Characters I guess came down to preference ya, but I loved all of the KotOR characters and I hate like half of the KotOR but I didnt just hate them, I despised the ones I didnt like. (Personal preference again, though I dont understand how anyone can stand Kreia) and leveling... I dont remember it, I jsut remember the cap was removed so you got to level 40 which was awesome.
But ya, my opinion

And being "evil" in KotOR amounted to nothing more than being a punk thug that beat up on people for DS points. KotOR2 involved the actual corruption and manipulation of neutral or good characters that were intensely loyal to you.
The game was also a typical Bioware story to the letter and "the reveal" has been overhyped on the internet since the release. The entire story has been blown out of proportion as being this amazing feat in writing. Look at this way, if KotOR was a novel, would you read it and honestly say it is a great work of literature?

I don't think anyone actually liked Kreia in the sense that they want to bed her or be best buddies for life. Honestly, I think most of the characters from both games came across as whiny and at times poorly written. The characters in TSL seemed to be more complex and multifaceted than the ones in KotOR. At the very least there was a lot more to them than there was to the characters in KotOR. You had to dig to find out who your companions were in TSL.
KotOR added a great deal of feats and additional prestige classes.
I'll just leave this here. They make a big difference.

Great thread
Certain points/times of World of Warcraft were 10/10 imo, nearly perfect as a game - even more so as an MMORPG.
First 20(?) levels?, early raiding 40 man raiding, Burning Crusade early on, season 2 pvp etc.
Deus Ex1 was 10/10 for me personnally.
At the time I could not/would not have changed a thing. Time marches on but back then it was unreal.
Zelda - A link to the past on SNES - truely lost in a game for weeks.
Street Fighter 2 - original/Championship edition. Pretty much flawless tbh - whatever the platform they ported it too - SNES/arcade/Megadrive/ hell even the Amiga 500 version was damn playable LOL.
Morrowind gets a juicy 9/10 and a mention.
Maybe Dow2 - I thought the production values in it were genuinely flawless.
