That and I have a feeling that even though they announced Cyriss would get fewer releases than the other factions going forward, there will still be cries about how they are ignored. By not making another intentionally small scale faction, they avoid such complaints, and just get them lumped in with the general merc gripes.

They design this stuff a year or more in advance. I doubt a cry over the Cyriss release affected releases going forward unless it's something years down the line.

There's definitely some new Drudge sculpts going on though.

Someone pointed out on the PP forums that Helga NEEDS to be allowed to take Croak Hunters in her theme force (or at least one, and he has to be painted green!)

Do the math here.

Wow! Quite a line up for PP! overall, I'm pretty happy with all of this stuff.

New Hordes book:

- love that lesser warlocks are back, and I like the idea that they just specialize in a particular type of faction beast. I do love how weird some of the other minion lesser casters were, though now two are sort of their own factions. I'd love to see more minion 'lesser' casters who are just characters with crazy cool one off beasts.

- The farrow stuff is neat, the meat grinder is definitely on par with most of their stuff. When they began as a 'pseudo-faction', I was pretty psyched and bought a caster, and a few beasts, but since then they haven't impressed me much (although, I LOVE the razor boars! Mostly because I can run them with Rorsh). When they get a Gargantuan, I'll give them another look.

-Gators. Don't play them, don't really know anything about them. Glad to see them getting some love as well. I also applaud the 'no knockery' of the priestess.

-Skorne. YES YES YESS!! Giant rhino mount! Unit of evil crab beasts! Mammoth and reptile hounds!! (yeah, I'm STILL happy about them). Fingers crossed that the new 'lesser' lock has an affinity towards Titans, as they are my favorite warbeasts in the game. I would be happy with one who created a cool Basilisk synergy too though. Did they say if Xerxis Rhino is a warbeast, or just a big mount. i don't think they've ever done that where the caster actually rode their beast into battle. No time like the present I suppose.

-Circle. The lesser girl lock looks cool. I wonder if she has an affinity for the griffins? Seems like they could just turn the skinwalkers into a warbeast unit, and call it a day. They're all plastic now, so I wouldn't be surprised if theres a new kit with similar parts for their unit.

-Trolls. Don't really know much about them, but I'm sure whatever they have will be the bane of my existence soon enough.

-Legion. Never played against them. I like the idea that the character beast works differently with each of the two twins.

Level 7

-Does anyone actually play this? I've never seen or heard of anyone I know actually trying it. They keep making them, so someone must play them.

IK RPG

-looks cool, but don't play it. Hope the new stuff is good for those who do play.

Warmachine

-Cephalyx. They look cool, and I'm glad they're a merc contract instead of a new full blown army. I hope they continue with stuff like this. Are they just in the new book, or a new little supplement book entirely?

- Was there any mention of anything for any of the other factions? Might not get the book if it's mostly Cephalyx and a few things for each of the other factions. Warroom will update all my cards, and since I don't read the fluff, there's no real reason to get it otherwise.

Bah, organic models using only one body sculpt being made as modular restic kits means that they're all doomed to have their left fist raised, right fist lowered... just doesn't cut it from a modeling point of view with these big models, imo:

You understand this is just a sneak peak right? That they don't show everything. And that when they do these xpacs generally all factions are treated as equal in terms of what they get.

I'm digging the Cephalyx so far. The preview video was a good teaser. I always liked the Cephalyx concept, and I'm interested to see where PP goes with it.

Of course I know that. Dude, a man can dream though.

A MAN CAN DREAM.

Even if Trolls don't end up with a new Heavy (although Circle gets another), I can take solace in the fact that I can get a Xerxismobile and a Baconmobile to drive around the battlefield demolishing everything in their paths.

Totally agree. Even a different set of legs in the kit would at least allow for one different pose. *sigh* Sometimes PP seems a little cheapo on the model side of things, like they don't really try.

Still, I will take great rules and mediocre models over the opposite any day. (At least till I find better models to use )

At least monstrosities should be plastic kits and easy to re-pose. I think it would be cool to get a few trollkin parts and make the monstrosities out to be troll drudges.

As an existing mercenary player I am far more interested in the solos and units and how they fit into the four star syndicate. The warcaster seems cool but the monstrosities are not very compelling when you already have nomads and freebooters in faction.

Has anyone mentioned the limited edition Goreshade1 sculpt? It's up on the PP website for purchase for the duration of Templecon.

New Goreshade is very nice. Over on the PP forums folk have reported that this is the convention only version of his resculpt.

While I like the sculpting quality of the Cephalyx (although is that just resin masterage?) I just don't find them interesting. Lot of bare flesh and little else.

Very much looking forward to the new Hordes book, however. That looks to be packed with awesomeness.

From working on the plastic Mercenary Warjack, I'd say nothing about Privateer plastics is easy. It's a nightmarish material to work with, it doesn't even sand well. That there's only one monstrosity body pose is a giant minus sign in my book. It wouldn't be so bad if it was a neutral pose, but anything with that level of dynamism is going to look bad in multiples

GW did this exact same mistake with the Dark Eldar Grotesques.

I'm liking that Goreshade resculpt, but just not liking the dice.

From the initial preview pic, it looked like he was dragging a soul along with him. I guess I was wrong.

Is there any chance we'll see this new pose get a wider release? I would assume if so it'd be replacing those dice with something else.

The new mounted version isn't going to count as a dragoon and include this pose is it?

I keep waffling on whether or not to order him... and then whether or not to include some other goodies just for free shipping. One of the extreme kits would be fun...

This is convention only version of the resculpt. The normal resculpt will be released later.

Did they say there would be a different version of the resculpt coming later? I think that would be a first for them as usually their con sculpts don't get a second wide release version like that. They usually just sit as limited availability during events.

And yeah, dynamic mono pose models of something that you're going to take multiples of is something PP does that I hate. The Brute Thralls are another really egregious example of it. Those are the models I'm most likely to replace with something else to increase the visual variety of an army.

Right, so if I want to get deeper into Warmahordes I need to start Mercenaries, Cyriss and every Horde faction to sate my love of the models? Thanks PP.

Is there any unit in the whole Privateer Press range that does not come with some “perfect twins” ?
Also, it is the reason why I want to buy the blitzer older metal model :

Yeah, distinct body pose from the other dire trolls !

As I recall you can build a full ten man unit of Nyss Hunters without making a set of twins.

PP did not do that on purpose, then, because their official artwork shows at least two pair of perfect twins.
