@ Goatman - I think everything will work out! We seem to be collecting a good mix of players, and I am sure everyone will be fine.

@ Yakface - right? This more than anything is one of my biggest motivations to paint. When you commit to painted only, you make it happen. I want to field a Vindicator and / or a Land Raider for my CSM on May 11, so I am going to hustle to finish them. Right now they're primed red!

@ Goatman - I can build essentially 3 tables worth of terrain from what I have (using those modular foam tiles). So just let me know how many tables worth of terrain you need me to bring.

Well I want to say we are going to need four to five table on the 11th. There have been several "I might make it" responses so if half of those show up I think we will be end up having around 10-12 people.

If you just bring what you brought last time that will put us up to 3 tables and a mat. It looked like last time you brought more terrain that what was needed for a single table, so maybe we could use that for the mat?

I could also try and get some more work done on some hills I have made but not painted before the 11th which would make the mat less pathetic.

Hey guys, I have recently gotten back into 40k and am a Tau player. I am working on some new stuff and hope to be done in a few weeks. I probably wont make the 11th but would like to come to the next one.

No, my 2 friends did not include Sergio, although I saw him the other day and he said he would "probably" come. My 2 friends both cannot make it. I invited one other, but the chances he can come are probably slim.

Sorry I've been so bad at replying to PM's! Sometimes I'll go by and forget to log in if I'm just skimming threads!

I'm still not 100% sure I will make it on the 11th but will try my best. I have my Necron army finished finally (built, not painted yet) and currently building my Tau army. Used to play Tau in 3rd and this recent update drew me back to them heh

So the event is just a week a way, just wanted to make sure all interested parties catch the thread.

I am also just going to go a head and suggest people bring a 1500 point list as a all comers level. I think most folks can run this many points but its not too few to get to run some interesting things. If you don't have a specific player and or point limit you want to play build a list for 1500 and hopefully you can find someone to play with there.

Sounds good, Goatman. I think I will just show up with a couple of 1500 point lists and try to get two games in rather than one huge game.

Will also be playing a kill team game with Thokt.

I'll have a couple 1500 pt lists, and I'll be there early on. Who wants to play an early game? Yakface? Goatman?

Hey Goat man, Im hoping to get in touch about the 11th, I sent you an email with all the details. that being said ... some friends and I were hoping to come play, we have loads of terrain and a table we can bring ( maybe 2 tables if needed ) and were all laid back guys, who play regularly and by the rules. we have a few armies each. please let me know if you have some room for us to come out on the 11th !

Throk I am down to play, although if I can squeeze in a game of warmahordes with frenrik before he has to leave I might want to do that, so if someone else wants to play you no worries.

Xeno I was planning on asking people to stop starting new games at like 9:00, that way we should be done before 12:00. I have to be at work on Sunday at 8:00 so I don't really want to stay out too late.

Hey Bloodfist, I responded to your email. Right now the only limiting factor for how many people are welcome is gaming tables, so if you can bring one your more then welcome to join us.

Also if anyone else wants to come but can't bring anything don't worry, show up and we will figure things out. I know that I don't mind playing 2 v 2s or even the occasional 3 v 3. I know thats not everyone's cup of tea, but one way or another we will find a way to make it work.

Had a great time! Shame I couldn't stick around for a second match. Anybody from the club is welcome to pm me for a weekday game at Game Empire - I'm a freelancer so I have odd times off (I'd prefer GE when it's not crowded).

I wish i could have made it but it was my oldest sons birthday weekend with me so had to take him out with his sister and my youngest son so i coulden but ill hit you guys up the next time.

I am looking at the 8th for our next meeting. I think we are going to need the bigger hall so I might not be able to get the date I want as it is booked more often, but we shall see.

If you guys whant to meet up at a smaller place i got a game room in the back with 2 fold out tables but i only have 1 gameborde and not much in sceanery as a brother of mine has all the ones i made but he lives in lancaster and he dont drive.

As an aside, is anyone here into Epic? With the news of GW pulling support for their Specialist Games, I brought my Epic Blood Angel army out of storage... and, of course, got suckered into buying some more stuff before IT'S GONE! I know a few guys in the area play it. Anyone else here interested?

I've got a ton of completely unpainted stuff and a box of the old Epic buildings.

Epic Armageddon is one of my favorite rulesets of all time, but I don't have anything close to an assembled (let alone painted) force to play with.

The bummer of Epic to me has always been that many of the factions have no models at all or if they exist they are old versions based on like 2nd or 3rd edition design concepts.

The new versions that were put out were just for such a limited cross-section (IG, SM, Eldar and Orks)...so model-wise you're really only looking at a 4 faction game, which is a bummer since all know and love so many of the other races in the 40K universe.

Yeah, people have made rules for Necrons, Tau, CSM, Tyranids, etc, but you either have to scratch build your models or try to find ancient models on Ebay that don't match the current 40K design aesthetic at all anymore.

Well, awesome! I agree, the Epic Armageddon rules are excellent. It's very much more of a war simulation than the comic book that 40k is.

I'd be fine with playing against your unpainted stuff to start. The wonderful thing about Epic is that it paints up so easily. I've only got about 1750 points or so painted, but I have the feeling I could have that up to 3,000 points inside of 2 weeks or so.

I agree about the lack of factions in Epic, but, I guess it's what we've got to work with. I have two friends who have an Ork and an IG force, and I run Marines, so we do have some variety. I played against a guy with a large Tyranid force once, and those models were fine.

What unpainted stuff do you have?

So after talking with the the church it seems like the only date that works for both me and the church in the near future is June 1st. I know this is right around the corner and doesn't give everyone a whole lot of time to plan for it, but its better than not meeting at all in June. As soon as I get the final ok, which should be tomorrow or Wednesday I will update the thread.

Once again I am sorry for the short notice and I hope folks are still able to come.

Unfortunately, just found out my rec soccer league's double header is scheduled for that afternoon and not evening, so I won't be able to make it. Thanks for putting these together Goatman! Hope to be at the next one and get in several glorious games.

The next time we are meeting is officially June 1st at Manhattan Beach Community Church, we will be meeting in a different room than last time (its a little larger and has a lot better light) but its right across from the room we were in before.

The night will begin at 4:00 pm (that is the soonest we could book it) and the night will end around 1:00. We need to set up for an event on Sunday morning afterwards so if anyone is willing to stick around and help clean up that would be greatly appreciated. It sounds like we will have fewer folks this time around, so we might not need as many tables.

I know its short notice but please try and let me know if you are coming so we can try to insure everyone has a place to play.
