You misspelled 'awesomely' in the thread title.

The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Someone's gonna electrocute themselves in a knife fight.

That being said I don't see the purpose of this. If one has already connected with the knife blade the enemy is already down, so why taze them.

Well, it could help in an actual sword fight or if you are absolutely terrible at poking people with sharp objects, or if you use it to block. Actually, a taser riot shield might make more sense.

This item could have tremendous application in a lethal confrontation, especially if modified to a smaller format, like knives.

In a typical knife fight, a less than lethal strike can largely be ignored. In fact, knife fighters are often taught to use their off hand almost like a shield, fending off strikes with the off arm so that the fighter can deliver their own more effective strike. With this technique, you're not trying to get your off hand cut, but it's not the end of the world if it does.

With a knife that has a stun capacity, even a grazing strike can end the fight as the opponent is momentarily incapacitated, allowing for a lethal blow to be delivered.

The effect was pretty cool, but surely it makes more sense for a taser weapon to be used at range.

As the saying goes, "You just bought a taser knife to a taser gun fight."

Getting tased? Sucks. (I know from experience)
Getting hit with a sword? Probably sucks a lot as well.
Getting hit with a sword that is tasing you? Ultimate suckage.

He could probably improve the design though. Make it a single blade with two probes about 3 inches apart along the length of the blade, and it would provide the same effect. It would also require less/no insulation for the user(other than the wiring running along the length of the blade). I'm no electrician, I'm just saying.

Having watched the 2nd video, it seems to be most useful if you happen to tackled by someone wielding two samurai swords.

No doubt this is an everyday occurrence in the US, but it's decidedly more rare over here.

Either use a sword to kill someone...

They have those! Prisons actually have ones that curve outwards like so ( so the officer traps the inmate against a wall like this: (i| and gives them a quick dose of juice to force submission and allow the inmate to be shackled and thrown back in cage.

I can confirm this from my own knife training. I'll stick to guns though.

Not to mention that once the blade penetrates your skin, the effect becomes significantly more profound. Arcing through muscle and nerves is quite different from arcing over skin.

That would be something interesting for them to show the effect of, however, I suppose there's no real pleasant way you can manage that.
