Figured I would start a thread here to get some feedback from Dakkites on things I am currently working on. All opinions are welcome here, just try and be constructive if you can.

I'm working on some modern infantry heads and I'd like and some feedback...

Would you prefer a head like this "as is" or would you want some goggles and a mask, to simulate a desert/harsh environment warfighter?

Thanks,
Steve

As is is fine! He looks a bit plump, though. Goggles and mask variations would never hurt too.

Check out my plog here

It's not for me, but it looks great as-is. Goggles and masks are great to add variety because they stand out. If you're focusing on making only one head, having such distinguishing features would be a distraction.

Looks pretty cool to me.I would have the goggles as an extra optional piece.

This is just an example from a 5 head set. The plump look is evened out a bit when they are printed.

They will all just have helmets or there will be a mix of goggles and goggles & masks. That's what I'm in the midst of figuring out.

Separate goggles is certainly an idea too

I've considered it, just haven't gotten there yet. Any ideas about possible candidates?

I know Wayland have just started selling dreamforge stuff.I see no reason why they couldn't stock your equally impressive miniature parts.

Some Steel legion heads would be great

There is a DEVGRU head set out this month with 4 lens IR.

Hmm...Steel Legion...never heard of those. I could do a WW2 style helmet and gas mask combo...how about that? Seems like those have been done before though...not sure.

I would rather see a 5 head set contain 2 different faces, 1 googles wearing and 1 goggles raised on helmet.

Now when you say mask are we talking some kind of fixed mask or scarf mask ? depending on which kind you mean would alter my decision.

In that case I would like to see 1 face helmet head, 1 face helmet head and scarf, 1 goggle head, 1 goggle head and scarf and 1 google head raised with scarf.

But thats just my opinion

Not really helpful at the moment Steve but whatever you do will be great! I'd agree with LDD though a good mix to make the squad all individuals would be my 2cents, I think a lot of hobbyists are now really looking to personalize their forces and give them personality in a squad so the games we play have more of a story with characters who we try to keep alive for another turn, even the lowly Guardsman! (who look great with Soudakadi heads! thanks for subbing Steve!) I'm itching to get my hands on the NV style goggles and helmets so I can build a Sniper team that look totally badass! Ooooh Rah!

Think it could do with some extra goggling on the sides to block out light.

i am a bit confused about the amount of lenses used... why so many? looks weird to me... tho i am not that firm with tech stuff...

Can we have more of a front on view as well, might help with input

The 2 outside lenses are there to help with peripheral vision. Here's a RL example...

This should give a better view...

Now that makes more sense it amazes me what is in existence these day, nice work so far is this the final version or is there still more detail to add ?
By extra detail I mean coms as in these pics :

Not finished with them yet, just a WIP. There won't be sunglasses, the IR is usually used at night

There may be a few with masks/scarves, there's also detailing to still be done on the helmet and I need to add the comms.

Oh man they are gonna be perfect! I can't wait (as usual)

tbh I hadn't thought about the multi lense versions! only the drop down goggle type NV you usually see in awesome B grade action movies!

Should I make the IR goggles a separate piece? That would allow for posing them up or down.

Good idea, but they would be quite fiddly and the contact would have to be spot on for them to sit well and not look like they;re a stuck on bit?

I think the helmet could do with being abit bigger tbh and some kind of comms headset is a must and dont forget the helmet straps.
