Krieg! What a hole...

As a Death Korps player, I am not too sure as to what to use to kill e'm dead before they reach my line, feels like Manticores would be perfect, with instant death and 3 large blast, but hey, can't get those, the only other STR 10 weapon I have is the Medusa, but its only 36'' direct fire nowe, feels like this gives me very little range to kill the bikers.

Is there anything else worth sending their way? Sure basilisks can fire from far away, but the green buggers get fnp and a 3-4+ cover.

Flamers feels pretty bad, maybe a horde of hellhound, but meh, need lots of hits, so what do?

DKOK cant get manticores ( i have two, but sadly cant field either). Have to ally those in and really its not worth it.

Simply grab 4 medusa siege guns and run 2x2. At 500 points, with maxed crew, they can dish out 2x2 S10 AP2 large blasts at 120" so sit them in the corner. Sure they get 4+ cover saves, but no FNP and they get ID'd easily. With Barrage on the medisa siege guns you can get around the warboss and snipe out the painboy. After that, quantity of fire can deal with them.

Or you can run thudd guns and try to pin them. With the Shell Shock rule you get 3 chances to pin them at ld9 (45% success chance).

Or you could try to get a hit with a breaching drill for S10 large blast fun.

Or go the old DKOK way and run pistol+CCW and 4 powerfists in a 50 man blob with plasma guns. Works wonders vs just about everything. in melee. .7 wounds overwatch, Challenge takes the watchmaster with no fist, then you have 90A at I3 (4 wounds) before 8A S6 (2W with cybork). You lose combat, but with LD8, stubborn, and rerolls from a Reg Banner you will stick around and eventually punch them to death, especially if you can remove the Waagh banner.

DKOK is built for this kind of stuff. Arty and punching stuff is what DKOK live (and die) for. DKOK can bring more S10 than just about any army between medusa siege guns and the drill.

Guardsmen platoon.

But they have 4+« and 5+ FnP. In that case, which is the best order, FRFSRF or Fire on my target (reroll cover saves, in that case, special weapons can force re-roll, while FRFSRF will only work with lasguns).

Yep... flashlight space can bring 'em down. Just don't let 'em close enough to get into hand-to-hand.

dont they have 4+ armor and a 5++ too. They dont need to roll their 4+ cover save if they dont have to.

Things that ignore armour, I utterly decimate nob bikers with ease as my kabalites with splinter racks in raiders just zip around them spraying them with rending mesh, poisoned splinters and darklight stuff works really quite well...

Nob Bikers have a 4+ cover save and a 5+ FNP save...

Ignoring armor would do nothing to their survivability. Poison would help counter the 5 toughness, tho.

It'd have to be Ignore Cover AP4.

They have 4+ cover save and 4+ armor save. If you don't get rid of both they still have a 4+ save.

Strength 10 pie plate. Doesn't even need to be AP4, instagibbing them is enough.

TH/SS Terminator allies always do the trick, I hate those fethers.

Not in the Krieg list, buts its str 6 AP 3, means it doesnt deny FNP, no instant death and the guy usually runs Cyborks. I'd rather leave the guy with a 4+ save and instagib the bikers.

Just give it up. Being a slave on an Orks planet ain't so bad Bob.

Seriously though; ally in space marines. Take a drop pod with something mincey inside and a vindicator to create a zone where the nobs don't wanna go.

Problem with the bikenob star your thinking about is that if you tool to kill it specifically, then the rest of the list is going to plow you away. The loot as will erase artillery each time they fire at it, and the boys can ablate anything you buy that's for 'nob killing'. Just beat the mission rather than the Nobstar.

Depending on the lootas range, I'll be fine, I have Thudd Guns for mobs and kans and Engineers + Drill to take out the lootas.

2 batteries of 2 Medusa at 400 pts is probably what I'll use, they're extended range Vindicators, after all.

Only thing that reliably kills them is weight of fire. Templates are a BAD idea against an experienced ork player. He'll spread those nob bikers out and you'll get very few kills for the amount of fire you're putting out.

Weight of fire is what you need. Lots and lots of it, which thankfully DKoK can do.

Just remember that as big and scary as the nobs are, they cost a LOT of points to field. If you can tie them up, pin them, or try and get them to run, you'll be amazed how fast the tables will turn.

Cheap crap is the bane of all super units. You're Guard so you must have loads of it already. Here, eat my 2 chimmies/ 10 dudes so the rest of my army can move away and shoot your 500-1000pt unit. Oh and dont focus on str3 if you want to kill T5, if you have 100 shot you can do some damage but 6's to wound are no fun at all.

In a single shooting phase do this;

1. []oo[] <= Dudes pew pew pew

2. [][] <= Flat out
... oo <= Out of los, can't be assaulted.

3. Profit!

[] = chimmy (empty or full)
o= squad-o-dudes

Just dont push your entire freaking army in his face, just enough to keep him busy for the next round. Do it in such a way he cant reach your unit or cant get LOS at all.

Don't count on the lootas being out of range of anything unless there is a really really sweet ruin thats just begging to be camped in that is off to a corner.

But it does mean transports that deep strike with a St:10 Ap:1 blast.

Oh and units that can assault out of said transports.

Nerfed down to Str 8 AP 1, with a 100% mishap chance, since I will not kill Bikers outright, the drill and its payload goes after the Lootas
