Project Update #25: Oolen Mini Stretch Goal announced!!
Posted by Action Games Miniatures

Bam!

Here is a surprise mini stretch goal for all you dragon fans out there! One incredible spirit creature added FREE to every army box pledge or higher when we reach $45K. All dragons can summon these, and when they burst free from their host you get to pick the type of actions / abilities they preform. Fun, deadly and beautiful!

Oolen
Un-aligned Chant Creation

The creation of Oolen is relatively new to dragon chant magic and their full potential has yet to be reached. All dragon species have begun using these valuable creatures. They are very difficult to make and drain chanting creatures energy considerably in order to store vast amounts of energy and thought. These creations are exact and persevering servants. Oolen only last half a day in their true form and are hidden inside “volunteers.” When their host dies the Oolen explodes into action, preforming the tasks it was created for. Assassination, destruction, or even carrying complex chant layered messages.

AGM has amended the way the stretch goal miniatures are unlocked. You now qualify for the Army box and Ultimate level unlocks if you're pledge after any add-ons (but not including any shipping costs) equals or exceeds $85 or $240 respectively.

Lastly, we have opened up another way for backers to qualify for the stretch goals of the Army Box and the Ultimate Collection. We have been asked to open things up a bit and allow more freedom for people to choose how they want to support us. While the Ultimate Collection is still the best deal around at under $3 per model, you will qualify for the included stretch goals of the Ultimate Collection if your total pledge amount equals or exceeds the $240 of the Ultimate Collection. You can do this directly by pledging for the Ultimate Collection or through any combination of multiple pledge levels and upgrades. It's up to you. The same applies to the $85 for Army Box included stretch goals. It's our way of saying thank you for supporting us, because you should be able to take the route you want.

They have some of the completed miniatures in hand and we should be getting a look soon, I will post the pictures once we have them.

Greetings everyone!
Action Games Miniatures is proud to present our Kickstarter exclusive miniature. The brutal, the terrifying BASTILLE. This model is only available for this Kickstarter Campaign. Also we have streamlined our graphic list and presented a stretch goal summary explaining our achieved stretch goals easier on the main page. Nothing has changed with your pledges, we have simply made new and more efficient graphics to represent them.

Bastille - Un-aligned Joined One

Rish Dragons have a twisted sense of humor. Mocking their conquered peoples' religious beliefs, Rish have taken to calling their twisted Joined ones “The Blessed.” As if being boiled alive in Dragon blood and having your DNA smashed open is a good thing. These large creatures are difficult to make and can prove problematic to control if their human side begins to show dominance.
Bastille impressed his creators early on with intense savagery. A few years after his creation, however his violence became too much for even the Rish lords. Not wanting to destroy such a valuable servant his owners placed him in charge of a prison while they decided his fate. It is not known what brought on the slaughter, only that the daytime guards came to work in an abattoir. Not one living thing was left in that building. As for Bastille the endless carnage seemed to have brought out his last scraps of humanity. His eyes open to what he had done, he fled his home and masters. Now Bastille wanders Dara, selling his services to those who have the courage to look him in the eye. His awakened humanity keeps him from overt destruction, until he gets onto the battlefield and releases the darkness within.

Players of any force are allowed to field Bastille, he is a powerful solo warrior who can handle the toughest foes. Bastille is part of the ultimate collection. He is available as an upgrade for $20.
Our excellent Rivercrest swordsmen will be out tomorrow in all their glory.
Thanks guys We love ya! ;-) We will have plenty more exciting news in each coming day
Cheers

I really like the models and will probably end up doing the $240 level once it gets closer to the end or when it hit's the Hard Cover Rule Book.

I wish I knew more about the core game mechanics, though.

I do like how there seems to be a divide between the dragons and the humans. That is to say, you can see a distinct culture between them. It really shows that the humans are a conqured peoples and not just minions of the Dragons.

A new update:

Happy Friday Everyone!

I thought I would share some of our new models for the Un-aligned force, presenting Ghast and Son!

Ghast is a member of the Huma tribal group of the eastern mountains. Much like the Grom and Cherek his people have undergone significant displacement as humanity continues to rise on the continent. No one is sure what terrible calamity befell his village, but Ghast has often mentioned he was "the last one left." He and his infant son came down from the mountains with nothing more then some scraps of clothing. It was a sympathetic smithy in an outlying town that o ffered Ghast food and lodging in exchange for his great strength. A relationship that years later would make Ghast one of the most sought after alchemists in the land. Poisons, oils, clouds of smoke and remarkable healing ointments are just the beginning of this hero's arsenal. If you can afford him, his battlefield resources can quite often supply victory!

Ghast is one of the members of our up coming Un-aligned force he is on a 40mm base and cast in white metal. As well he will be available for individual sale very soon.

I like those quite a bit. But are those casts? Odd that they are all in EXACTLY the same pose... are they not multi-part? Just need some more info on what I'm seeing here to really make a judgement...

They probably don't use circle holes and pegs where they arms and bodies connect. It looks like they are 4 pieces each, torso + head, legs, left arm, right arm.

Edit:
Anyone else think the Saan has a Scorpion tail? I really don't like it. The tail along with the small wings make me really not like the model.

Edit 2: Just got the $240 package.

I does look like a scorpion's tail, but I think it's supposed to be more fish/amphibian-like. I wasn't sure if I liked it at first, but its grown on me immensely. The more I see of the concepts and sculpts for this project, the more impressed I am.

New update showing the scale of the Drake miniatures
Hello and happy Monday,

We've had a few requests for a shot that shows the scale comparison of one of our miniatures to one from a well-known franchise.
Here is a quick photo of a Rivercrest Swordsman next to a big burly orc from Warhammer 40K. Note how our guy is "true-scale" meaning that human body proportions are rendered accurately.

The new cards look cool. Only $8,000 $6,750 away from a the hardcover book!

Does Erhan the Deep lremind anyone else like Pilot from Farscape?

Edit 1: Beta rules 3.0 were just published.

Edit 2: I just realized that, with the chant beasts being almost limitless in number, this game has the potential to have hundreds of beasts for players to pick from. This could turn into a combination of a Table Top Mini game and M:TG. I like it.

New update:
(There is an alternate bit for the Ballista crew's arm if you don't like her attitude )

We've got a surprise for you! We have unlocked our Mysterious Warriors at 57K! These ruffians are now available as upgrades.

Dara is a vast land of numerous cultures. Almost all of them are colliding in spectacular ways. Trade, warfare, intermarriage, and conquest are all factors that contribute to a dynamic cultural melting pot. Despite the specific dominance of some dragon species, most Drakes and indeed most inhabitants of Dara hold allegiance only to themselves, their blades, and their claws…

Presenting the Mysterious Warriors Boxed set: The Sarmatian Nomads.

AGM is proud to present our first Mysterious Warriors box the Sarmatian Nomads! You may choose ANY mighty Dragon to lead these fighters, or add specific models / units to your already existing force. This box contains the following lethal combatants:

8 Sarmation Auro (Foot Troops.) These unyielding fighters believe dying in battle to be a sacred act. They can be outfitted with a variety of weapons, each trooper a minor hero in his own right! Add $20.

4 Sarmation Hosa (Crossbow Priestesses) The ancient Sarmation goddess Yulia is known as the maiden of the bolt. Those that choose to be accepted in this ancient sisterhood must first travel outside the tribe for 2 years. If they survive to return, a place of honor among the temple is assured. Add $12.

1 Sarmation Yero’Hosa (Light Artillery) Yulia is a fickle goddess, bestowing at one time great blessings and at others terrible wrath. Those of the Hosa sisterhood that crave greater piety will construct these dangerous machines, proving their loyalty to the goddess with each well placed bolt! Add $12

Ghast and Son (Hero Alchemist) Ghast is a member of the Huma tribal group of the eastern mountains. Poisons, oils, clouds of smoke and remarkable healing ointments are just the beginning of this hero's arsenal. If you can afford him, his battlefield resources can quite often supply victory! Add $10.

The Unaligned Mysterious Warriors is a completely new force for the game of Drake. They can be fielded on their own with any Dragon leader or added as desired to any other force. More exciting models are planned for this dynamic group!

At 95K we've now got The Seretin Dragon.

In the old world there was little reason for Dragons of different kin to work together. As intelligent beings friendship and shared experience often brought them together, but it did not last. The awakening changed much, and new allies have grown in this frightening distant future.

The Seretin are not an organized faction of Dragon kind. A specific biological group certainly, but not cohesive in any way. They mate once a year and this impermanence has produced in them a distant nature. Since the old world they have shared territory with Rish drakes and though conflict occurred they had a mutual understanding. The Seretin can go where no Rish can follow… Massive wings, slender limbs and an aerodynamic frame allow Seretin Dragons to fly to tremendous heights. They are true masters of the sky.

Since the awakening most Seretin Dragons and Rish have grown closer together. Rish are natural leaders (those that crave power usually are) and the Seretin are more than happy to assist in the new world they are attempting to construct.

Seretin dragons have a greater understanding of the chant, but their over all ability is unstable. They are less physically powerful than their allies but have great speed and evasive abilities, rarely seen in beasts of such size.

The Seretin Dragon will be included with all $240 and above pledge amounts. He can also be added as an upgrade for $35.

Cheers!

I have to say, I've been following this KS for awhile now. I watched it on Indegogo, and I was really impressed by the figures and concepts then, but IIRC, it didn't get funded. Glad to see it taking a shot at kickstarter.

I really love the look of the computer renders of the figures in red. Reminds me of that plastic resin they use to make Buddha, and Dragon figures with in Asian gift shops. It would be cool if the figures were actually cast in it, I probably wouldn't even bother painting them!

The concept with the dragons and such is really great, and the designs really have a lot of imagination in them.

I was really hoping they'd add in this Two headed mammoth this time around, but I suppose if enough people get into the game, it could rear it's ugly head(s).

On a side note, less than $3k until the $65k stretch goal.

Is it wrong of me to want to see all this stuff in plastic?

Especially in red plastic?

My kids like the concept of the game, but their grubby little paws and fragile metal figures are a recipe for disaster.

Plus if it was in cool red plastic I could get away with not having to paint them.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Very imaginative and unique! I'm not digging the "sexy" outfits, nor the artillery gunner flipping the bird (er, aren't they supposed to be priestesses?), but overall this is one of the more interesting and creative wargaming projects that I have seen in some time, even though it's not really up my alley. Best of luck with your Kickstarter!

I think I'm finally gonna get in on this. Glad to see a Canadian mini company, and the designs have been interesting me. I don't like the massive legs/boots style many of the characters have, but the humans and dragons are looking pretty sweet.
