This is a brainstorming thread.

Personally, I can't stand the GW Slaanesh Daemon miniatures. Slaanesh is all about excess, correct? Beauty, sex, violence, emotion, etc to the maximum thresholds imaginable... this is not possible with 70 year old purple crossdressers on farming combines and jar-jar binks dinosaurs. If anything, these GW models make me facepalm and cringe in excess.

I essentially want to mix sexual allure and S&M with the relentless violence and horror of Silent Hill. My vision fits GW Dark Eldar morso than GW Slaanesh. As a result, I have the desire to find more suiting miniatures from other companies. After a caffeine-induced evening of searching, these are the best of the best that I have found. Feel free to contribute any others designed with similar style.

Keeper of Secrets (Mierce Miniatures, "Euryalia, Queen of Ker-Ys")

Daemonettes (Raging Heroes Miniatures, "Preying Mantis")

Sorcerer, Lord, Herald, or Daemon Prince (Hell Dorado Miniatures, "Eurynome")
This guy is like a S&M puppetmaster... LOVE IT!

Herald (Hell Dorado Miniatures, "Succubus")

Daemon Prince (Pegaso Miniatures, "Kuvar Reaper")

Not a miniature... just nice concept art:

  • Any ideas for Seekers of Slaanesh? Not a fan of the dinosaur mount

I love those preying mantis models! Gonna have to get some myself.
I really have no idea for the seekers, though. I'll look around and see what I can find.

For the seekers, maybe adding wings and if some sort to the mantis daemonettes? Perhaps clawed feet as well holdin onto some unfortunate souls face?

Always found GW [especially the new plastic daemonettes] are not really exploring the full extent of Slannesh, almost like they are scared of what the Chaos God actually means.

This is a thread after my own heart. I'm working on a Slaanesh army right now and have been searching like mad for models that don't suck as hard as GW's. (Or rather, suck harder in the good way.)
Freebooter minis make two large sculpts that are ideal for Slaanesh Demon Prince(sse)s

    Going to Reaper and entering 'female demon' or 'succubus' in the search offers a cornucopia of models, but at about $5-$8 on average probably not cost effective for Daemonette hoards. For princes though I'm considering 2 models;

    And oddly enough this one...

...Which is supposed to be a New Years Eve model, but if you painted the bottle up like absinthe or somesuch and the top hat like Slash (or Rihanna if you like) makes a good tribute to Slaanesh's "sex drugs and rock" aspect.

I'm also eyeing this one from hasslefree...

Thinking of slapping some wings on her and painting her hair purple. The joke being Cultist Chan got shuffled into a challenge, and by a fluke won and got the prince boon. "Nhow hwee are an alicorn prinzess fhor no raisin!!"

I'd hate to see this thread dry up. How bout some Anima tactics?

There's always the Forgeworld Keeper of Secrets (who is gorgeous, honestly. Don't know why they went for Daemonettes who don't even look like they're from the same Chaos God..)

(Click for a really good thread about putting her together and painting her up. I left off the spikes and the finger claws and smoothed out my KoS. She'll be getting armour plates on her legs and arm soon..)

and the old Diaz Daemonettes (though again, these gals are expensive if you want to get them!)

and Diaz Seekers (my favourites, the steeds look fast!)

Not a GW fangirl, just that these are the models I have in my army and I don't know a lot about the other lines.

Sersi on here used to make and sell some amazing sculpts for a Keeper of Secrets...

    ...and three female Daemon Princesses:

I don't know where he went, but his absence is keenly felt. I need some more DP3 arms, damnit

Oh and something I found while googling for pics:

Blood Vestral, Raging Heroes, could be good for some conversion pieces. Grab some of these (I'd fork out the bit extra for resin for ease of conversion) and maybe the GW plastics for the feet and arms? (I'll have the arms if you don't want them! )

Back when I had aspirations of making a Slaanesh army, I had planned on mixing the old Diaz daemonettes with Dark Elf Witches.

    Holy

I have never seen those models before but WOW, they are beautiful.
That is everything a slaaneshi model should be and if they redid the line with that sort of style instead of static humanoids with massive crab claws, BDSM gear and really weird hair I'd have to buy an army.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

You can get them on ebay (search for daemonettes seekers slaanesh, and look out for these types), but they usually sell for about £10 per model.
