Hey so when i last played 40k i remember this guy won golden demon with a scratch built baneblade and i was like whoa thats insanely huge. But now there are plastic baneblades and shadowswords etc, they seem commonplace. Im thinking of starting a small guard detachment (like the smallest i can get away with including a banesword) to ally with my marines in larger games, but toying with the idea of building a massive tank, like two shadowswords stuck together kind of thing. Are there any places to find rules for tanks larger than the super heavys? Looking for inspiration

So you're looking for rules for something that you've made up yourself?
Gonna be pretty hard to find. You'd be better off just running it as one of the superheavies.

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...

You're thinking of something like an Ordinatus, the rules for which can be found in Epic 40,000.

More just inspiration for something to build, i want it to have more guns than a superheavy but was wondering if there are existing rules for bigger tanks that i could use to gauge what is acceptable or practical. Like as in "is there a type of tank already described with points value and armament so i can see what that amount of rolling weaponry is worth" Automatically Appended Next Post: Furyou Miko wrote:You're thinking of something like an Ordinatus, the rules for which can be found in Epic 40,000.
Awesome thanks for that direction, the ordinatus looks pretty insane. I was just unsure if there were any vehicles in between a baneblade and a warhound titan. Cheers for the help

Not really. Warhounds are powerful rules-wise, but the model isn't all that much bigger than a Baneblade. Most of the size difference is the legs that make the Warhound significantly taller.

Run it as....

Or just put on a costume and stand on the table you can be an Emperor Battle Titan. No 40K rules though as far as I am aware.
If you want something with rules TheCaptain is right on as that is a huge unit that can actually be fielded with the Apocalypse rules. The fire power one of those brings is incomparable to anything else you can field.
There are even some models both FW and other sources for it so you have some images to go on.

I swear that I have heard/ seen scratchbuilds of the old Space Marine "baneblades" and I think they were called Fellhamers or something like that, if I recall correctly they are about twice the size (or 1.5x the size) of a regular baneblade.
edit: AHA! found one on google, search "space marine fellblade" the one I was thinking of is the first yellow one that should belong to the Imperial Fists

Fellblade, and same size. They're a plastic Baneblade kit with different turrets and some marine-looking bits glued on for decoration.

Yeah saw them, not big enough! Want to use two shadowsword kits, use the extra track sections to increase the width and then build a bigger superstructure with a turret for a vulcan, two hull mounted quake or volcano cannons and a whirlwind or manitcore launcher crammed in somewhere. Plus the ubiquitous heavy bolters, flamers, lascannons and maybe a quad gun for air defense. Bear in mind i accept this will likely never be accepted on any battlefield ever, but maybe if i class it as a reaver or ordinatus or something, i could still satisfy my craving for stupidly huge "secret nazi superweapon" style tanks.

What you want will require you to make your own rules up.
The only thing larger than a Baneblade, thats not a titan, is either an Ordinatus battery or a Leviathan command tank(which is basically a fortress on treads, its large enough to transport entire tank companies)

Yeah did think of building a leviathan after reading gaunts ghosts. But they arent assault tanks, seem to be mkre of a command and transport vehicle. I want some insane artillery/flamethrower battery with achilles armour (just read the rules for that last night, wtf). Well if not achilles, heaps of armour. Are there rules for ordinatus in 40k?

You could try converting a Hellsword - Baneblade with an Inferno Gun in the turret, Inferno Cannons instead of lascannons and Heavy Flamers instead of Heavy Bolters.
Yes, I know it sounds backwards to put the cannon on the sponsons and the gun in the turret, but that's because of the silly naming convention. The Inferno Gun is a Hellstorm template, S7 AP3 and mounted on the Warhound normally. The Inferno Cannon is a Torrent S6 AP4 and is mounted on a Hellhound. >>

Yes they are fun and terrifying for your opponent. Unless they should so happen to have Railguns or scouting Multimeltas

Hey I plan for him to be related to me to get around those. But probably seeing as it takes nine months to build one and an expensive mother to maintain i'll just build one out of plastic.

Me rikey! Hellsword looks pretty excellent. Are there any baneblade chassis missile platforms? Also, where can you get quad guns individually? Ive only seen them with the bastion
