Soooo yeah. The idea is that one platoon blob outflanks via Al-Rahem to provide side pressure, while the other proceeds up the front. The autocannons will try to lurk around the CCS as best they can to benefit from bring it down. The lascannons are a new thing, as I used to run CC blobs but now it's all about gun lines. I figure as I advance, I snap fire the lascannons if I must. I hit fliers and such on a 6 anyways so It's not a big deal, and when I hit it's going to hurt anything with armor.

Platoons will haunt the blobs for FRFSRF

Marbo will generally be used for early game horde thinning

Stormtroopers are used to deep strike in and deal with anything nasty and armored in the back.

Vendettas do what vendettas do best, take out fliers and high armored targets

Sentinels are there to tarpit and threaten low armor targets

Leman sits at the back, spitting large templates on hordes and infantry mostly. Heavy bolter should help this slightly. I'm worried about it being the the one high armor thing on the field, so I expect it to die quickly.

My main issues are the platoon and company command squad. They just seem like a waste of an opportunity, but the units are so small I feel like investing much in them is just asking for a template to smear them. Anti armor is pretty well covered methinks, horde control seems a bit meh. If something ties up my hordes that's going to suck too.

Tips? Advice?

Drop the Storm Troopers for Vet Squads, scoring and hot-shot lasguns are kind of overcosted.

Put your PCS's in Vendettas with Flamers.

FRFSRF is weak.

But then what would vets be doing? Chimelta would kind of be against the infantry heavy vehicle light. Without chimeras best case scenario it's just another heavy weapons squad with bs4. I've got so many heavy weapons one more gun wouldn't make much of a difference. Meltas would be the same thing, what's worse is they have to get close enough to be assaulted.

Storm troopers are for accurate deep striking melta, something veterans can't do.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

The more I think about it, why flamers? I believe you can't fire them while zooming, and if I stop zooming I die and everything on board usually goes with it.

You're not going to drop these guys off until late game. Hopefully by then, enough of your opponent's anti-tank is killed so that your Hovering Vendetta (Now just a 12/12/10 skimmer, still not terribly flimsy) has a shot at surviving.

Once you stop zooming, even if the Vendetta gets shot next turn, the guys inside will have already disembarked.

If you for some reason find the situation too risky to hover, then you can Grav-Chute insert the guys. 5 guardsmen have a small deepstrike footprint, and if they do mishap, then you only lost 50 points of guys.

Once they disembark (Probably turn 5) they scoot onto an objective, or flame some of your opponent's guys off of one. Or, if neither of those options are available, then at least they can grab linebreaker. Something quite hard to get for stationary-blob armies.

Flamers are the go-to because they are cheap, ignore BS3, and backfield objectives they will be going after are usually held by weaker guys camping in cover.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the advice!
