Oh btw I get my magnets from Spider Magnets on EBay. Decent prices and they have some beefy rare earth ones, the N52 grade.

Be sure not to use too many magnets on one model. Otherwise, they sometimes get weaker. This is a common problem with multi-arm models (e.g. Tyranid Warrior), where the close proximity of the magnets screws up the polarity.

He shouldn't have any problems with the terminators. I have some of the Paladins with the left arm magnetized at the shoulder, wrist, and heavy weapon spot and they work fine.

If you feel confident you can just use a power drill, especially for something as big as terminator arms.

Try to avoid painting over the magnets, blob some bluetack on them before you spray.

I primed right over my magnets, even have color over them. Just as potent as ever, but that might be because of the specific magnets I bought.

Wrap your bit in duct tap, or masking tape, and use your fingers. I only use my power drill when I'm drilling 1/4" holes (I like big magnets) or drilling into metal. Or after I've worn my fingers out from drilling too many small holes.

I have magnetized quiet a bit of my stuff my advice, when doing smaller minis joints. Be patient, try to get it right the first time. And do one side at a time...it can be a pain to re-align a arm after you drill both sides...and even more so if your doing a pewter mini...those are the hardest to do IMHO.

I need to magnetize more things in my army. But being an ork really the only things that should be magnetized are the guns on battlewagons, parts of the walkers, or the arms of your nob bikers if you wanna WYSIWYG an optional kombi scorcha (i have a bikerboss that way, i never use the damn thing though since i finished my Wazdakka model as its way better lol)

I forget the size of my magnets but i use whatever size i think i can get away with on the part im drilling. Im probably going to magnetize the Burnas im about to put together using my medium ones (i believe theyre 3-4mm wide and 1mm thick) so i can swap the arms out for loota guns (as i rarely use burnas i see no point in dedicated a model for it if i can find a way to swap the weapons around) or rokkit boyz (probably more likely as i think i'd need the lootas anyway if i ran burnas).

As for the Gel comment, ive used that stuff before and i hate it even more than regular superglue for magnets. Reason being, if you push slightly too hard (which is easy to do when trying to make it flat) the gel will give and go flat as the liquid does, even squirting out and getting your finger/tool. I still go with greenstuff to make it flat.

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

Pewter is when I bust out the power drill. Even if I'm running it super slow, my hand doesn't get tired from so much cranking.

Conversely, I have less trouble with squirting -- and therefor sticking to whatever I was using to level out the magnet, instead of the mini --- from gel than I did with liquid.
