I have seen this exploit gaining momentum, has there been an official ruling?

It clearly states that desperate allies don't count as scoring. That would include KP

It's not official, it's because some players read "your models treat" as "you(player) treats" At best it's poor comprehension at worst it's players intentionally misreading a rule to gain an advantage

This doesn't really hold up as a counter argument though. As units that don't count as scoring (Ie Elites, HQ) do count for kill points.

That has nothing whatsoever to do with whether a unit counts a victory point when killed. Purge The Alien is quite clear that any unit counts, whether it's Scoring, Denial, or neither.

What probably makes sense is that if you brought it in an ally FOC, and you control them, then they would count as KP for the other team. You brought them in a FOC you made, they should count for your opponent.
