Whats your thoughts on a Space Wolves Chapter composed of Marines from before the Heresy who come back and found the Fang in new hands and basically leave and form their own chapter using stored gene seed they had on them.

Pretty much breaks every rule of Space Wolf fluff and backstory.

"composed of Marines from before the Heresy" - They all left with Leman Russ, except for Bjorn the Fell-Handed.

"form their own chapter using stored gene seed they had on them" - Second foundings do not work like that. They never have.

And the Wolves are pretty clear in having absolutely no Second Founding chapters. It's what makes them unique.

This is a big miss, sorry.

There is something unique to the genetics of the people of Fenris that make them the only viable recipients for the geneseed of Russ. However, Fenris is a relatively low-population planet, and can support only the Space Wolves Chapter.

Space Wolf geneseed only works with the population of Fenris. Something to do with how the original colonists had been genetically engineered to survive the planet's harsh climate.

the only recorded successor, the Wolf Brothers, suffered from rampant mutations and were destroyed by that.

Interesting idea. But those of Fenris are the only ones who can truly wield the mark of the Wulfen. Unlike many other genes, which can be had or inherited by other chapters.

With that, it does go against some lore, and like it was said above, the Wolf Brothers are the only ones who attempted to inherit the Wulfen seed, and were destroyed.

I like to hear your opinion on that, because we are having a giant discussion on B&C..

ADB: I showed the Wolves revealing the key weakness at the heart of the World Eaters; showing Angron that his Legion was broken and worthless compared to the others; that he was the one primarch who couldn't trust his own warriors, and that they didn't care if he lived or died; showing that loyalty to brothers and sons is the heart of success for the Legiones Astartes, to the point even Lorgar makes a big deal out of saying the World Eaters and their primarch were massively outclassed by Russ, and Angron was too stupid to see the lesson Russ had sacrificed time, sweat, and blood, to teach. We're talking about a battle the Wolves won, by isolating the enemy general through pack tactics, and threatening to kill him, without a hope of defending himself. It was a balance, 50/50 - Angron overpowered Russ, and the Wolves were losing ground to the World Eaters; but Russ and his warriors had Angron by the balls, and barely broke a sweat. They won, no question. Lorgar even says: "The Wolves won, meathead."

Dorn won’t help you either. He’s too busy being the Emperor’s groundskeeper, hiding behind the palace walls. The Wolf is too busy cutting off heads as our father’s executioner, while the Lion holds on to his secrets, and has no special fondness for you. Who else will come? Not Ferrus, certainly. Nor Corax either. Even as we speak, I suspect he flees for Deliverance. Sanguinius?’ Curze laughed cruelly. ‘The angel is more cursed than I. The Khan? He does not wish to be found. So who is left? No one, Vulkan. None of them will come. You are simply not that important. You are alone.’ Konrad Curze to Vulkan

Yeah I agree, quite frankly I cant see much evidence. Only one Canis Gene was ever made, any "variation" of it is, well, the same thing and cannot actually be different in any way. The Seed was in part made to survive on Fenris, not the desert.

There's nothing about the Red Wolves to suggest they are descended from the Space Wolves, other than they happen to both be named "wolves". Also, reading some of the page discussion (the wikia), they were erroneously stated to be a Successor to the Iron Hands, though that was a fan-made edit that has since been deleted.
