There were rumors awhile ago before the whole dark angels/chaos realse and push and now there are rumors about tau and some warhammer epic stuff on its way. But is there ever going to be a new codex for the BT? I tried emailing GW to ask if its going to be out this year but no reply over the last 4 months. Anyone have any ideas or heard anything?

The above is correct, but to answer your question it is more than likely after the tau codex but possibly before eldar, short answer no one knows yet.

Likely will be Tau then Eldar then who knows? GW releases armies more based on what models they think will sell best rather than paying attention to whether or not a codex is badly outdated rulewise.

won't happen. GW would sell more different codexes and models. Plus current BT players would rage. Hope this doesn't happen. I know I would freak if DA got rolled into C:SM

The current BT Codex is from 2005, making it the oldest in the game.

Yes, Black Templars will eventually get a new codex. No we do not know when it is due out.

My prediction: The Champoin and Helbrecht will be named characters in a 6th ED C:SM, thus ending their run as a stand-alone faction.

I would not at all be surprised if BT just gets rolled into the next C:SM book. In fact, I'm willing to put money down on the table today that this is the direction they will be going in.

I'd like to see that bet. GW wouldn't pass up the chance of making income for the sake of streamlining.
