Busy painting the last 2 inquisitors and basing the Tzeentch Screamers. Hopefully can get started on them tomorrow.

Well, the 2 inquisitors didn't turn out as I wanted (and I found some mould lines I'd missed) so back into the stripper with them and then into the 'to-do'-bin.

For now I'm back with Chaos:


Have 18 of these guys (and some more to use for Chariots). Will paint them into 2 packs of 9 with different colours.

Quick work on the first group of Screamers:


Now I'm left with the difficult decision: go with a completely different base colour for the next squad OR just different detail colours but same base?

Nearly finished the screamers, unfortunately ran out of glue to decorate the bases, will have to wait till the weekend before I can buy some more. Probably going to start on the 20 horrors + command I have ready. Pictures to follow.

Started on the Flamers of Tzeentch instead:

I have 19 of the buggers, so 2 squads of 9 and a spare.

Also arrived:

(more henchmen for my scout squad)

(a plasmagun for the other henchmen squad)

Had some time, worked on finishing the Screamers:

I have 2 more heralds on discs to complete the units if I want to run screamerstar.

Have one more of those plasmagunners in the stripping tank and converted an old cadian ammo loader to have a plasmagun for the scouts.

Finished the last henchmen and it's back to Tzeentch. I decided to complete the last model involving screamers/discs first, the chariot:


I have some thin chain which I will use to make some sort of halter for the screamers.

Received some stuff in the mail, finally was able to make a base for my Marauder Destroyer:



3/4" thick stem, the widget I got with it I put on the base. For the connection to the flyer, I used 3 layers of plastic card to make a flat square, which I glued to the top of the flying stem. Then I drilled in 3 pieces of brass rod into the stem through the square. They extend about 2cm into the flying stem and 2cm into the flyer. They fit snugly and the square surface of the plasticard stops the flyer from jiggling.

Finished the chariot:


Not really satisfied with how the chains turned out. Tried to green-stuff some first but they didn't look right. I still had a few foot of chintzy 'silver' chain from Ebay from another project so I used that.

Now starting on the flamers, will try out some paint schemes first.

You know if you ink the chains they may look a little better. Maybe a good black , brown, or flesh ink.

The one with the pink band around the lower part will be the Pyrocaster.

Still need to high-light all their heads/beaks with bright yellow/white and paint the eyes/teeth. Still, a quick and easy paintjob.

Problem is, what to do with the 2nd squad!?

Reversing the scheme perhaps? Or you could do them as a negative version (the proper term for this is lost on me right now - like inverting colours in MS Paint)?

I agree with this. reverse the colors would look nice. Also if you do ink the chains on the chariots I would not mind seeing an updated pic.

I really like that. The dull chains contrast nicely with the bright colors of the deamons. Makes it look a lot better.

Epic. I have a couple of those armourcast vehicles.

I keep checking Ebay to see if I can snap up one of those Armor/Epicast titans for cheap. Even if those words don't quite go together!

Went with the following for the 2nd batch of Flamers:

No time to paint, alas. Tomorrow I have a tournament. I'm bringing 1850 pts of Nurgle goodness.

Still debating the color of the hands. I'm edging to very bright yellow, maybe with blue fingertips.

I would suggest that to keep the unit looking the same, paint the hands of the command the same as the rest of the squad.

It is quite difficult, the command squad was made later than the original pink horrors and doesn't match well aesthetics-wise anyway.

Originally I wanted to collect a squad of really really really old Pink Horrors (the original with the somewhat politically incorrect expressions), but there was never a command unit made for those so I used the somewhat newer command for it.

understandable. I love the older stuff. I have a nurgling that is shooting the bird. LOL!!
