Subject: Long Gunners or Nyss Hunters?

Hey peeps, I asked this on the PP board as well, but I figured I might as well start a discussion here.
So I am trying to expand my Cygnar to some gunline units, and I am torn between Nyss Hunters or Long Gunners. I originally intended to do Long Gunners, simply because Snipe and potentially 2 CRAs per turn seem amazing.
But I keep hearing how Nyss Hunters make Long Gunners obsolite in every way, and I do like both models, so I am torn. I can see how the fact that they have better RAT and Hunter is big, as well as the pathfinder, but on the other hand, RAT does not really matter much when you are doing massive CRAs anyway, and is pathfinder really as important as potentially getting two shots(with Snipe, ofcourse), and with more powerful shots no less?
I can also see how Nyss hunters would work better by themselves as harassment, but I think the Tempest Blazers now have that angle covered.
So, opinions? Thoughts?

Nyss Hunters are great for the Following.
SPD 7
Def 15
RNG 12
Effective 19" Range
They have Combined Ranged attacks like Long gunners.
Weaponmasters in melee
Hunter/Pathfinder
The only thing long gunners have going for them in most cases is they can shoot twice if stationary.. but that seems to only happen 1 turn as mobility is a big thing.
Nyss can be used for Multi purpose.. Jam Unit (High speed and Def), Melee Unit (23dmg on average on the charge), Ranged Unit.

My main concern with the Nyss hunters is that they seem more of a skirmish unit than simply a versatile gunline unit.
However, Cygnar now has the Tempest Blazers, which is amazing at the skirmish role. I dont wanna buy a unit that clashes with them, so I was looking for more of a gunline. Still, I can see where the melee capabilities and high def would help the gunline as well. They'd probably make a good front rank, with gunmages at the back. Or perhaps even Long Gunners, hmmm.

They can be Gunline as much as Long Gunners.
You can set them back.. Snipe them and shoot like any other Unit. They just have other perks to them.
Vs a melee army, Long gunners might only get 1 turn of setting still and shooting..
Move up and Shoot
Stay still and shoot
Move away and shoot rest of game.
While Tempest blazers are nice, they do not have the Volume of shots 3/5 shots a turn..and they dont take Casualties well.
Just be careful of taking to many shooty units.
If you have Full Blazers, Full Long Gunners, Full Nyss, Gun Mages you have spent a very large amount of points that do the same thing, and heavy jack/beast armies will give you troubles.
i also would say your not going wrong with either choice.. and Nyss is a Character unit if you ever do a tourney (Character restrictions)

Well obviously I would not run everything in the same list, but I get what you're saying about having to move back and shoot. It's just a shame to lose all that extra anti jack firepower.
Still, I guess I'll get Nyss hunters for now. Shame, I kinda like the long gunner models.

charging weapon masters is nothing to scoff at. I'd go with Nyss hunters.

LIke i said, they both are good units, and nothing wrong with one over the other.
Nyss are perferred as you have seen.
Nyss can combine for a PoW 20 at range.
so vs an ARM 18 Warjack shooting the Long gunners can do 20 dmg past arm on average on a turn they double tap.
4x Nyss in melee is 24dmg Past arm on average the turn they charge.
Along with the Warjack now has to deal with them to do anything else.. and he will be boosting to hit def 15 burning through focus.
