Fiery Sheild, from the Pyromancy chart states the unit has a 4+ cover save from weapons that do NOT have the Soulblaze or Melta type. how would this interact with weapons that ignore cover, such as template weaponry?

If it's a cover save, it would be ignored by any weapon which ignores cover.

Wasn't sure which would take preference.

If they didn't want cover ignoring weapons to benefit the models would receive an invulnerable save instead.

That's not entirely the case...you don't get cover saves in close combat, but you do get invulnerable saves. There are a variety of differences between the two.

Regardless, I agree that you don't get a save vs. cover ignoring weapons.

Yeah, ignores cover USR definitely ignores fiery shield due to it being a cover save. If they wanted it to be something to get around it, they would have made it an invulnerable save.
