Well seeing as how the game comes out in a few days (and I have yet to see a thread on it) is anyone else planning on picking up AoT Devils Cartel, or tried the demo for it? I tried the demo and was severely impressed with what has been done to the game! If I had to rate the game solely on playing the demo I would give it a 7 outa 10 but that will fluctuate after i see how the storyline is.

What I have thought of as pros so far.
Spoiler:
-Weapon camoing looks fairly realistic this time around, and the fact you can have wooden grips (with different wood such as oak or ash) and stocks on shotguns and other certain weapons is sweet. Other than the wood there is painted, anodized metal, snakeskin, digital, desert/ urban/ forest/ arctic camo, metal (such as gold and silver), and ivory
-the shotgun can get Dragons breath shells
-gun shields no-longer look ridiculous and I think they can deflect the odd shot or two (going to have to test that out)
-semi destructible terrain is always a nice touch
-half decent vehicle sections
-lots of guns but I still have reason to believe that there are around 10 or so more guns that were not shown in the demo such as an RPG or China Lake grenade launcher (and a double barreled shotgun comes with my pre-order)
-M1Garand. No explanation needed

What I have thought of as the cons so far
Spoiler:
-you no-longer play as Salam and Rios, your now Alpha and Bravo (or B.O.B. and Big Boi if you get the pre order........ i think they are rappers or some nonsence like that)
-the game no-longer has the "rock-paper-scissors" mini game or the ability to congratulate/ beat up your team mate to either up or down comraderie
-overkill mode, sure it is a cool feature but it makes you temporarily invincible so you dont have to play tactically for short periods of time

Overkill mode was always in IIRC and was one of the selling points of the first game.

I never knew about "overkill" being in the first, I knew of the "back to back". Cripes I logged a good 100 hours at least on the first game and never once stumbled upon how to use overkill

Could be mistaking the two, but I could swear there was something like that in the first game.

Back to Back made you invincible in a predetermined spot and you couldnt move, from what I saw in the demo, you can use overkill anywhere you want, any time, and keep moving

Watched a let's play of the first "chapter", if you want to call it that. It looks pretty cool.

The back to back sections are always crazy but you are hardly "invincible" during them, to many a times I have had to get a buddy over to help me threw a few spots since the A.I. just yelled there was a RPG right after i get smoked by 2 or 3 almost simultaneously (to the fault of myself always being preoccupied trying to shoot a cluster of enemies)

Beat the campaign.

I liked it. The game is, in a nutshell, if Michael Bay were to reinterpret the plot of "Commando" and given the guidelines of "MORE EXPLOISONS!".

That is a very good thing, mind you.

Did you play 40th day Kan? That felt like a let down and I was trying not to hype myself up for this one due to that. Is this one better? I'm hearing good things so far

How long is the campaign? A decent 10-12 hours, or a full-price AAA game with a 3-4 hour single player campaign.

It took me from when it arrived yesterday 11:30am EST to 11:30pm EST, so 12 hours. That was without doing the "Overkillers" contracts, and with a few short breaks for dinner/reading going on.

Good thing I have a spring break right now, eh boys?

Oh, bear in mind that was on "Normal" difficulty and getting into the top 5% globally for completion times on the missions.
I'm going to be replaying it this weekend with a friend of mine, so it'll get better.

I did play 40th Day. I did not mind 40th Day, but this one felt like a "return to form" for Army of Two.

It's over the top. It does not take itself seriously. It is glorious.
As an example at one point, the following exchange occurs between Alpha and Bravo:
Alpha: They keep -insert expletive referring to sexual intercourse- charging a machine gun nest. These cartel rats are -insert same expletive- morons!
Bravo: Didn't we just charge a machine gun nest?
Alpha: Yeah, but we're -insert expletive again- badass!

As another example there's also an achievement called "Fashion Police", which is for shooting 50 hats off Cartel flunkies without exploding their faces when you shoot the hats off.

I believe you're thinking of Aggro, it was in the first game and there was an achievement tied to it for the 360 - http://www.xbox360achievements.org/game/army-of-two-eu/achievement/13052-Fear-is-The-Mind-Killer.html

I've seen the trailer but the first game just left me meh towards the series. I disliked the region locking of the multiplayer and hated the fact that you had to pay for the actual ending.

Well to be honest the game looks incredibly generic compared to the first two.

Poor ignorant guardsmen, it be but one of many of the great miracles of the Emperor! The Emperor is magic, like Harry Potter, but more magic! A most real and true SPACE WIZARD! And for the last time... I'm not a space plumber.

There's no doubt it is generic in terms of plot.

But that's not what Army of Two is. If you come expecting an epic storyline, it's like expecting Michael Bay to do a film which does not have tons of explosions.

I haven't fished yet, but I think I'm close. Kanluwen is right it's explosions all around. As a whole I think 40th day had more in it.

The run down for the three games for me so far goes as follows;
Army of Two: gave me the insult fetho, and set the groundwork for loving Salem and Rios.
Army of Two the 40th Eh: crazy awesome hilarious weapon customization (Grenade launcher with a Shotgun anyone?)
Army of Two the Devils cartel: still have not beaten it, but I have yet to let go off the Double D or my other shotgun with Dragon Breath rounds. And as Kan mention the excessive explosions are nice and plentiful. So far I am not disappointed in this game and it has given all that it seemed to promise. (Also the Double D shotgun can get an under slung Grenade Launcher)

Edit: forgot to mention ive pumped at least 8ish hours in so far and I am on "Hard" difficulty trying to unlock "Insanity"

Just throwing this out there, but you should get "Insanity" unlocked even on "Normal" difficulty.

I unlocked it on easy.

I have played every army of 2 game. Well I can't call them good games. They are, in fact, rather average, but I find them rather fascinating. They are the only game to ever use the concept of aggro outside of a mmo and they do it in a way that puts all mmos to shame. They also focus on pushing co-op gameplay and it's rather nice to see the different ways that unfolds from flanks, to baby slings. I also found it humorous that the games most iconic elements are this grab bag of random things that couldn't be more random if you tossed a dart at a board.

I have always enjoyed army of two. I really like this game, and I feel like it put the series back in my good graces after the 40th day. I had some issues however:
- not a whole lot of guns, and the variety is further decreased when you consider certain guns are SO much better than others
- not playing as Salem and rios
- I made an awesome Spawn mask (from the comics) and EA deletes it from my inventory for some kind of violation they never had me read/sign

SPOILERS

- dont wanna get in too deep here but all of your t.w.o. Buddies die. It's not even im a useful scene, its just like if you see somebody they're gonna die
- I also hate what hey did with Salem.

Eh I liked what they did with Salem, he seemed a bit....... mental to put it into perspective, but I was more shocked than anything to once I found out WHO he was.
