Mine was the NES, and it was a handmedown, so I also got Legend of Zelda 1 and 2, Kirby's Adventure, Dr. Mario, Tetris, Mario Golf, Top Gun, and some others I can't remember off hand.

Oh, I remember that tank game! It wasn't the first, but I played something just like it with my sister on an Apple 2. She won more often than not, what with her being five years older than me and me having no hand-eye coordination at the time due to my age.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

The first console I spent a lot of time with was the NES. We only had two games for the NES -- Mario/Duckhunt and Godzilla but I played LoZ, Castlevania, and Super Mario 2 at my cousins' house.

The older Ataris on up to the "Darth Vader" consoles had a B&W switch on them to go from that to color. Maybe yours was stuck on

I think I played a K-Mart Pong console before that but not certain if it was before or after.

Yea that was the tank game I was talking about. Such a fun game

TBH, I think I must have just been playing on a B&W TV. I kind of forgot that we had those when I was a kid ...

My first was my uncle's Commodore 64 and it was this weird laser chess game that I always just called "laser chess."
First console I owned was an NES and it came with the standard Mario/Duck Hunt.

Everybody did. And almost everybody also got yelled at by their parents for banging the light gun into the tv screen.

Atari vcs 2600.
I think the first game was Pole position ( darkened room + Tv at max contrast YAY ) but I had another cartridge with 4 games so not sure if I was just more into racing... maybe the fact familiy members would rather join a session of Pole Position helped too.

Am sure it still works.
