I figured this would blow up. They had a REALLY great showing at Adepticon.

Was there any more info in regards to what was included in the two decks (treasure and quest?) or if they'll be available later? I haven't been following all of the updates THAT closely. Thanks!

Did they have models at AdeptiCon? Pics?

I stopped by their booth for a moment, and didn't see much. The few models they had appeared to be ones that we've seen before. I'm assuming that because of the KS nature of the game, they didn't bring alot to showcase, and instead had more items for their 'Mercs' game.

THey had some there, but i think they had to use the ones they had for the couple demos they were able to run. They were pretty early production models, I was told, but all in all they looked very nice.

Sadly, I didn't take very many photos. Between demoing Zombicide for CMON and getting piss ass drunk, I wasn't really able to.

I have a few photos of things I brought home, and I'll be writing about them this evening for ya'll to peruse. It was a pretty low key Adepticon, IMO, but that didn't make it terribly bad.

Maybe 3000 backers isn't so unrealistic after all!

YES! Cyclopes and the Minotaur and I'm 100% satisfied. Anything after that is just sprinkles on the icing on the cake

Trending VERY nicely:

Counting today, $120K in the last 3 days, and today's not even close to being over!

Tempted to go APPRENTICE level with all the extras too, but ARENA REX hit me hard, and Robotech looms large too...

I have been watching this and finally jumped in. It really hit a level that is just too good to pass up.

I think it's pretty much a given we'll be having a cyclops party at some point later today or early tomorrow.

At the apprentice level that's over 60 extra figures including larger sized captains. Damn. That's quite a bit of extra swag.

Can you imagine if they toss another race or two out there as stretch goals or options? Yikes.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Yeah, I have to say, for 100$ for 131 models (12 heros, 7 large, rest small and medium) and a full game, if you enjoy RPGs at all or painting minis, it is worth it. A lot of us play games where 100$ maybe gets you one unit, or even 1 model!

I can't think of many better uses of 100$ when it comes to recreational/modeling stuff.

So is this more akin to a cartoony version of Descent than D&D Red box (current version)?

Mechanically it's considerably different than descent. Like, a lot.

I'm referring to overall feel and complexity.

It is a hybrid between tacticl minis, and card deck play,.... then throw in story telling,... and a little luck from dice.

AND it is a full co-op,... no one has to be the dungeon master or overlord.

check out the videos; you'll see that it is quite different.

Like Yamato said, it's not similar in any of those respects. They're similar in that they have minis and are dungeon games. Beyond that, it's about it.

Im actually interested in this game but I have a question... in the right hand column on the KS page with all the various pledge levels it says Estimated Delivery January 2015 at the $100 level. Is this a typo?

I mean I could understand if some of the stretch goal stuff was delayed a bit, but thats one serious delay.

It's a typo. Estimated delivery is really Jan of 2014

I hope they can handle making minis that cheap. It seems like they are on top of it by putting addons and streches which dilute costs like duplicate minions and captians, but I just worry they get 'too much'.

Cool, thanks for the run down.

I can't watch the videos at work, how kid friendly is the gameplay?
From a blood everywhere and a complicated mechanic perspective?

The only way I can justify buying this is if I'll be able to play it with my kids in a few years.

I don't think the "blood everywhere" part will be much of an issue. I mean, you'll still be abstractly killing tiny plastic monsters so it depends how averse you are to that.

I think the game play is a bit more on the complicated side for a youngling, but only because they have to manage their hand. I think you could very easily give them the warrior or an easy to play character, play opened handed, read them their options and then let them make the decision. Could be a great way to foster reading too, as you could only let them play a "harder" character when they can read more cards on their own. :-).

I think this will be a GREAT game to play with your kids!

You know, when they're old enough.

Somewhere in that 10, 11, 12 range maybe?

Great, thanks for the quick reply.

On the blood side of things I guess I'd have a hard time selling my wife on a game where you can draw a "you tear out your opponents lungs with your bare hands, showering yourself with gore. Some of it gets in your mouth and you don't mind..." card.
So that works.

Hand management could still be fun, I guess I'd be wary of a ton of record keeping, but that's about it.

From the videos, the hit points or life points in this game are called blood points, so you might hit an enemy for 2 blood, or get hit for 1 blood, but that seems to be about as graphic as it got. I mean maybe the Brigand will have a backstab or hamstring ability or something like that, but I hardly think that would be too gory for a kid.

Wow! 107k day! If tomorrow is this good, we're looking at 600k before we even get to the final 12 hours!

Also, MERCs has said that there are 3 more stretch goals after 600k and then they are tapped out.

And the Minotaur mini-boss is in! Up next, we have the metal hero tokens and coins

Automatically Appended Next Post:
New stretchers are up!

Here are the next two stretch goals.

The first are 10 KS exclusive quests. These use KS exclusive miniatures, including the mini-bosses. I am pretty proud of these. I think they tie the whole KS (including many of the in-jokes) experience together nicely.

Second we have some special Slaughterfield Tiles. These are NOT KS exclusive, but won't be out for a long time, so we wanted you to have them.

Enjoy.
