So my buddy plays OnG and came up with an idea on how to create little fanatic bombs in a sense. He uses hand of gork to teleport a night goblin unit to say 2 inches away from an enemy. The question we both have is can the fanatics be released once the teleport is complete? Or do you have to wait till the next movement phase? We are thinking it just says when comes within 8 inches. So this combo allows three perfect hits with the fanatics then they should pop out the other side of the unit, and this happens in the magic phase. Correct?

Correct, this can be done

Teleport isnt a move, so they are not released until the teleport "drop" is completed.

that seems like a very effective way for fanatics to get some hits in.

Ouch. Hope my mate doesn't figure that one out...

BTW, if this happens, do Tue attacks count as cc or something else? Don't have an O & G book, so don't know what it says about fanatic attacks.

Correct. D6 for each Fanatic.

I once did it into a flank of HE Line.. Destroyed 2 units of 10 Swordmasters.

Does the sling work anymore? I thought wheel and reform had the double M restriction now.

Off topic then, if fanatic attacks are distributed as shooting, do wards against shooting cover them? or do you take a parry save? or neither?

No parry, as it isnt close combat.

Distributed as shooting is also like impact hits - no shooting ward saves, as it is isnt shooting.

No, The distributed as shooting just states how to distributed the hits. This is so they didn't have to write a whole new rule to cover the distributed hits. Even thou they should have and said in shooting use the Distribute Hits rule.

Seems slightly odd that you can't parry - if a guy came at me whirling a morning star, I would try to block it with my shield...

It is the same as Stomp - when you are being crushed, you are being crushed!

I have been using this for a while, best in a unit of 20 archers, 10 by 2. As you move the initial middle guy, turn him 90 degrees.
Then just see 3 fanatics do their thing, you also get 20 short bow shoots hehe. best used on a flank!

I have 3 such night goblin archer units, and a level 4 (savage) orc shaman, to get the spell. (but not 100% guaranteed).
I have started to take 20 night goblins without fanatics.
