Oooooh, new pics.

The cover looks great, nice to see GW can, in fact, get *1* thing right.

Also what's that thing in the bottom left of the 5th pic? It looks like the Empire uniform guide book thing but for HEs.

It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

I'm not saying they make good business decisions, but it's not realistic to expect them to turn around their Tau fail completely only a month later. Based on their cost-cutting, share price maximizing decisions made in the last few years... if their production lead time is up to 2 years, Tau may be the beginning of the problems resulting from closing US production. When did they shutter production in Memphis? I'm not exact on the date.

They never sent me last month's tau issue so when I called and asked for them to send me one, I think they sent this month's High Elf issue instead. I called and told them and they said they would send me the Tau issue but wanted me to take a picture of the magazine and the envelope it came in for "their records". Kind of wierd.

Maybe this is the wrong place to ask, but to HE still get Giant Eagles as a rare choice(or any choice) or has there been any mention of them at all besides as pullers for the sky chariots?

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!

I'm having a hard time figuring out what parts the 2 variants of the Phoenix share other than the heads and riders.

Either way, I'll end rocking a flame one for Monstrous Arcanum games.

That way,then left

A tidbit regarding the phenix (flame one) and its resurrection rule,
you do have to mark the spot where it died and in the battle report the high elf player managed to get it back just after it died,
so it might be a single chance "have it back in your next turn or it's dead for good" ... Can't tell much from the battlereport

Sea Helm provides his chariot with a 4+ invul save. If he joined a unit, it can make a free regroup after it has been charged (!)
Annointed is a pricy Lord with a 4+ invuln save

Frostheart Phoenix gives enemy units in b2b -1 strength and always strikes last
Flameheart deals d6 s4 hits to a unit he flies over , and d3 hits per every aditional rank the unit has. It can ressirect with full life.

Skycutter has s5, t4 and 4 wounds
Can have a s5 bolt thrower
Less then 100 points

Shadowwariors drop in points
Swordmasters, white lions, archers drop in points. Wl and sm more then archers. Lion chariot and bolt thrower drop significantly in points.

Loremaster is quiet expensive

Allarielle is a S4 mage, grants her unit a 5+ invul against non magical attacks, can heal herself or anither character, may grant +1 to hit for 1 turn (cc and ranged), all allied witards which use lore of life or lore of light get +4 on casting

Wow i'm surprised I really like the flying chariot, very "high" fantasy (no pun intended).

Interesting choice of new units. I'd have just gone and redone spearmen myself but seems GW have gone for an altogether more fresh approach that's pretty good I think!!

At this point we do not even know for certain that there are production problems.

Indeed. At this point, I see no reason not to reasonably conclude that there were no production problems at all in the Tau release, and GW simply falsely implied there were limits available in order to drive up demand by creating an illusion of scarcity.

The fact that they're repeating the exact same line with the next release supports that premise.

Are there two eagle wing positions in the sky chariot? That's much better than I expected.

@Johira

That would make sense if it wasn't taking most stores 3 weeks to get new product in. But hey, don't let me rip that tinfoil hat off your head

I'd say new production can't keep up with the release schedule. And it's going to be bad when Eldar get released. It's been around 8 years for them.

they probably want to trace it back to whomever sent it out early so they can give them a hard time.. Don't expect there'll be too many people responsible for sending them out though?

4+ Invulnerable Saves all round then

Frostheart Phoenix gives enemy units in b2b -1 strength and always strikes last

Potentially very ouch - some units will shrug it off though e.g. Anything reasonably strong that was going to strike last anyway

Flameheart deals d6 s4 hits to a unit he flies over , and d3 hits per every additional rank the unit has. It can resurrect with full life.

Anti-steadfast unit methinks

Skycutter has s5, t4 and 4 wounds
Can have a s5 bolt thrower

Hmm... quite cheap for a flying bolt thrower - Outflank a unit of Knights + New High Magic spell to increase BS = Knight Kebabs

Shadowwariors drop in points
Swordmasters, white lions, archers drop in points. Wl and sm more then archers. Lion chariot and bolt thrower drop significantly in points.

"Must make more points available so existing HE players buy new releases."

Loremaster is quiet expensive

I should hope so.

Allarielle is a Lvl 4 mage, grants her unit a 5+ invul against non magical attacks, can heal herself or another character, may grant +1 to hit for 1 turn (cc and ranged), all allied witards which use lore of life or lore of light get +4 on casting

Sounds nifty, but I bet you pay the points for it. Model is rubbish too

Are most stores taking 3 weeks to get new product in? All I've seen reported here was, "Oh no, we won't have enough for you! Just kidding, buy as much as you want!"

Frontline Gaming just got enough to fill their pre-orders. A local store just got product in finally today. Product wasn't available at any of the local stores outside of the codex that I'm aware of and I've been in most of them in the last two weeks. Maybe it's just Northern Cali and Minneapolis MN.
