Last Saturday, we had our monthly RTT with 22 players.

My Necron list:

DLord w/ weave, mss
2x 10 Immortals w/ NS
10 Warriors w/ NS
2x 6 Wraiths
3x AB

First game vs. Nids:

Tyrant w/ devourer, Guard (x2)
Harpie (Warlord)
2x 3 Hive Guard
2x Xenotrophe
15-20 Gaunts
10 Warriors
2x Carnifex w/ devourers

Mission: 5 objectives (1 central, 1 in each quarter).
Deployment: diagonal one. Large structure in the centre.

Nids deployed in one corner, everything close together. Necrons approached the enemy by surpassing the structure on one side. The aim was to stay within 24'' but outside of 18'' where Tyrant, Carnifexes and Warriors could bring their weapons to bear. This worked very well at the beginning. The appearing Immortals and Warriors in Night Scyhtes killed the Gaunts in midgame. At the same time, the Wraiths units one led by the DLord failed to charge the enemy front ranks standing for one round in the line of fire. Too bad. But not bad enough. Next turn they charged the Warriors and Hive Guard. During cc, the DLord got killed by the Harpie, the Warriors got destroyed (so no more troop units), and the remaining Wraiths killed one Carnifex, Xenotrophes, and Hive Guard. One Carnifex was claiming an objective (HS was scoring) while Necrons had three objectives. It was a big win for Necrons, with Nids only Tyrand and Carnifex left.

Second games vs. Chaos Daemons:

LoC
3 slanneshi Heralds in chariots
5 Fiends
2x 10 Daemonettes
2x 10 Plague Bearers
5 Screamers
2 slanneshi Soul Grinders w/ flamer

Mission: Relic in the centre, 2 objectives one on each side 18'' away from the relic
Deployment: Hammer & anvil

Daemons started the game (Daemonettes in reserve) moving everything forward. Man, these slanneshi units were really fast. I deployed my Necrons further back in my deployment zone on one flank. After round 1, Fiends were shot down up to one model with 1 wound left and one chariot was downed. Then my Wraith units moved forward ready to charge. The DLord plus his Wraiths failed the charge, while the other charged one chariot. One Soulgrinder plus the last Fiend charged into this melee and at the end the Soulgrinder came on top with 2 wounds left. After this, he was shot down by two AB's. The Dlord and Wraiths was left blank by the enemy concentrating on the other Wraith unit. So the Dlord plus Wraiths were able to charge another chariot plus the 2nd Soulgrinder. The enemy countercharged with one PB unit. But at the end DLord and his Wraiths came on top. Then they moved forward to kill the PB controlling the objective in the Daemon's home zone. The Daemonettes were deep striking, one into my home zone. One Immortal unit deployed from an NS were destroying them. However, the Immortals were then taken down by the LoC in cc. The other unit of Daemonettes was deep striking into midfield but was killed by the other Immortal unit. The Warriors were able to claim the objective in the enemy back field cleared by DLord and friends. The Screamers were able to immobilzed one AB, but got killed by return fire. At the end, CD has one Herald on foot left. Necrons were largely intact. Big win for Necrons.

Third game vs. IG with SW allies:

Cmd squad
Marbo
2x 5 Vets w/ flamers
4x 10 Soldiers w/ lascannon
3x Vendetta (carrying Cmd, Vets)
1 Wolf Priest
10 GH
10 GH w/ Drop Pod
1 Dreadnought w/ flamers, Drop Pod

Mission: Pitched battle, 3 objectives (1 in the center, 1 in each home zone).

Well, the first two battles were very thrilling and entertaining, while this game was rather boring.

IG started the game. WP and GH unit were outflanking while both Drop Pods were landing the centre to claim/contest the central objective. My Wraiths cleared this objective during the game. The outflankers never made it into cc as I placed my home objective in a central position. The enemy killed my Warlord. At the end I had 2 objectives, the enemy one. So it was a draw.

Final standing: 1. Necrons (Chris), 2. horde Orks (Luke), 3. Necrons (me), 4. Necrons (Tobi=KalTorak), ...

Cool report, short but quite understandable, you have any ideas of what the other Necron users played?

You have ruled this galaxy for ten thousand years
Yet have little of account to show for your efforts
Order. Unity. Obedience.
We taught the galaxy these things

And we shall do so again.

4500 pts

Well, I had no contact to the 1st placed. The 4th placed had 4 troop units, smaller ones with 6 or 7 Warriors or Immortals, three of them in Night Scythes and he had 4 Destroyers.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Next RTT will take place in 2 weeks. Then we'll play 1777 pts. This will give me the opportunity to field (for the first time) a unit of 5 Tomb Blades with particle weapons (S6, AP5, small blast). Ouch!

You sure it was 2x 5 Vets? Veterans Squad comes default with 1 Veteran Sergeant and 9 Veterans per squad.

Unless you guys are playing custom missions, objectives are worth 3-pts normally while the bonuses - Warlord, First Blood and Linebreaker - are worth 1-pt each.

Thanks for this hint. I guess it will be changed next time.
