Basically, in 10 years time when the 7th Edition Wood Elf army book comes out, he wants to say that "Oh, you play Wood Elves? I played them before they were updated".

Of course, if your Chaos Lord gets promoted to Daemon Prince in Fantasy he keeps his gear

I... Im not really sure. But that speak is not welcome here. Anywho, a few comments ago summed up very well how the Fantasy Daemons book is, and that's really all that needs to be said.

Not even vaguely close.

The reason it gets so much hate is that it's been nerfed, and now is an army you actually have to think about when it comes to playing the game and designing lists. Part of the draw of the old Daemon book was that you didn't need to think, you just pushed Bloodletters at people.

Also, as long as Wood Elves are in the game in their current book it will be extremely hard for any other army to come close to being the worst book in the game.

This one....

Huh? I think you are thinking of the wrong book. There's no Chaos Lord and there's no promoting, sadly.

Oh yeah, in Fantasy its the Spawndom upgrade(if it can be called that) if I am thinking correctly? But i dont think you can keep any gear if the Chaos Lord is upgraded. Sadly. There are a lot of parallels in the WoC and Daemons books, but the ones in the WoC book are not as good or have negative affects.

I see. But if someone sticks with the same army for multiple editions, then this is going to happen regardless?

Yes, but of course there are about 100 Wood Elf players in the world, playing them before an update adds to the hipster allure (ie being a fething slow)

It means he's dreamed of living in Portland, but has a job, bathes too often, and eats food that isn't 100% organic/free range/fair trade. As such, he wouldn't fit in, and is better fit for other cities and Daemon Armies.

I've only faced 1 mix gods list. It was all khorne core, Tzeench character and nurgle soulgrinder.
With 3/4 gods on the table, the winds of magic did exactly nothing in 6 turns due to the variety of marks of chaos.
I've heard talk of a big block of slaanesh with the auto pass characteristic test locus, running point in front of a purple sun papa nurgle. Fling it through combat, and ignore it with your troops.

IMO, the mixed list is stronger. If I take 4 gods with a fairly even split, at worst 1/4th of my army is going to get hit by the winds of magic.
If I take a mono god, I'm risking my whole army getting hit each magic phase. I'd rather get slapped 4 times a game then kicked in the nuts once or twice a game.
