Definitely not in the 40k sense of the term, but hell for all we know we can but we just don't know it yet. Technically, everything we know about everything is just things we've observed that happen to work in all common cases so the human race agreed that it must be fact. Physics, for instance, is only true because overwhelming cases make the human race all agree that physics is true. Now, if I say physics is fake and not real then of course I can't just ignore it. This is what makes them fact. Psykers 99% likely don't exist, but as said the human race has never really observed a psyker in a credible, scientific setting (someone randoms youtube video doesn't count).
So pretty much, Psykers most likely don't exist but it's much easier to prove they do exist through observation and peer review than to prove they don't. Of course, it's common agreement psychics aren't real, and until a credible scientific study comes out proving otherwise (and thus being able to shift public agreement) it's gonna stay that way
It's been researched to great extent, JB Rhine is quite famous for Zener card tests...at Duke University.
Stop bullgakking, you don't know jack gak about anything you're talking about.
All these nonsensically dismissive posts about "the blue pill" and "spoonfeed" and "go google it" just makes you look like yet another one of those obnoxiously arrogant conspiracy theory crackpots, like the loose change crap or the freaking birthers.
This passive-aggressive mockery of anyone with an inkling of skepticism is inane. If you have a point you want to argue-- and despite your words, you do seem to be trying to do just that, albeit in a very lame way-- then post sources and argue it. If you don't, you're making yourself look rather foolish right now.

Or are you going to claim that the government lied to you about the moon landings next, perhaps?

I would, indeed, use "a lack of wisdom" to describe your posts in this thread.
There is a certain lack of wisdom present in making half-assed references to claims without ever bothering to actually elucidate on them, and then not only refusing to back up your own position, but also refusing to admit that you ever even had a position even though it's blatantly obvious that you do.
No one believes you, by the way.

karandras15 wrote: There are a lot of folks on here that speak so matter of factly about things they do not have first hand knowledge about.
"A lot of folks" in a thread where there were only just over a dozen people talking and most of them were arguing for skepticism, therefor making your post decidedly anti-skeptical. Combined with your later posts (see below), and your general "arrogant stuck up conspiracy theorist nutjob" attitude, and your position is quite obvious.
karandras15 wrote: You are not authorized to view most results of the scientific proof, but the "official" statement is that the information gathered proves remote viewing is not consistently accurate or specific for intelligence use...
If that makes you feel better
Unsourced, unproven, and unfounded conspiracy theorist malarkey trying to cast doubt on an issue by using careful weasel wording instead of using silly little things like facts or evidence-- a passive-aggressive attempt to claim that the government is somehow both competent and malicious against all evidence to the contrary of both claims.
karandras15 wrote: Google it up...I don't intend to spoonfeed information to those that dare not seek it...
Fort Meade and Wright Patt are interesting places.
Translation: "I don't really know what I'm talking about but if I sound smug enough at least people will think I do." Bonus points for using traditional crackpot terminology such as "spoonfeed information", and claiming that anyone that disagrees with you and wishes you to stop bullgakking long enough to actually post something of value is just too scared to look up information that is, in your own words, available via a quick and easy google search.
More bonus points for using crackpot terminology, in this case a reference to The Matrix, claiming that those who disagree with you are stuck in a fake reality and that you know "the truth", a very comforting lie on your part I'm sure.
karandras15 wrote: You should begin a research project to study psychic phenomenon. Then you will have your proof...
Until then, you will need to get a security clearance, join either a military branch, of get hired by a gateway research nonprofit like AIR.
But you will probably keep asking for others to feed you information as a child seeks it's mother's teet.
Because you don't actually have any evidence in support of your crackpot theories, you instead attempt to shift the burden of evidence on other people. How pathetic.
Or perhaps just lazy?

You would rather call me names than look anything up to discover whether any statement I've made is a lie or truth...tell me, is that scientific method?

I did both, actually.
Are you still so lazy that you refuse to even back up your own arguments?

wait, I'm a bit confused. If what you're saying is true and the goivernment has done a rather surprisingly incredibly job of hiding the truth from us, then how is looking up information going to help? Because, by your logic, they have hidden everything but left all this information floating around the internet that is just oh so easy to find?
Hive Fleet Lazarus the Undying Swarm
Iron Angels of Khorne
Deathwatch Encyclopedia
But since you apparently haven't been capable of making a single post this thread without committing a logical fallacy somewhere in it, I'll help you along with this "logic" thing you are having so much trouble with.
You have made the insinuation that the government is hiding the truth using falsified official reports, and that anyone who disagrees with you is "eating the blue pill"-- and anyone who demands that you show actual evidence for your position is asking to be "spoonfed" and "dares not look it up" (insinuating fear).
Naturally, you'll continue to be a evasive and passive-aggressive about this, but that's okay, it's just further admitting that you realize that you don't have a point and your beliefs are based off of your own bizarre fantasies.

I have never said a false statement was made by the government...I said the result of their research concluded that remote viewing is not consistant or accurate enough for intelligence gathering, To see any proof of their research would require higher than TS clearance.
I did not say anyone that disagrees with me is taking a blue pill, I told curren that...I also suggested he get a job that puts him in a position where he could see the information himself...
My bizarre fantasies have nothing to do with psykers and I've never stated my personal beliefs...but there has been a bunch of jumping to conclusions, name calling and not actually reading things I've written.
I'm glad you're big enough to admit that this is exactly what your insinuations are.
Instead of doing all this weird passive-aggressive nonsense, how about you actually either just one: post your sources, or two: admit that you don't have any.

I'm glad you're big enough to admit that this is exactly what your insinuations are.
You are assuming that the "official" report contradicts all the documentation gathered, it does not, but it is not all-inclusive either.
If you thought the blue pill comment was intended for you, then I suppose you can claim it, but choosing to not seek information on your own is a self-written prescription, anyway.

So now you're attempting to subscribe your own argument on to my posts?
How droll.
And yet, you still don't have any actual sources to support your arguments, as lame as they are.

I never said any reports were false...that was your mistake
You have said a bunch of emotional things, and in your own fiery defense against some "conspiracy theory" you've imagined up in your own mind, you still say I have some sort of argument. Which I don't.
It's OK, though, I forgive you, and I won't rule you a crackpot for your constant leaps to conclusions.
And yet, for all of your evasiveness and weasel wording, you still have yet to post a source to support your arguments.

So if I provide a document that approximately describes what I have said, that decades of research on psychic phenomenon was conducted by the government, and an impartial report was generated by a nonprofit reputable research organization--you will declare me winner of the thread?
Totally entertained, these guys are cracking me up, the U.S. spends a million bucks to create a joke machine, but researching potential psychic phenomenon is so far removed from the norm I get called a crackpot for even mentioning it.

No.
The entire Stargate project was unscientific. Many of its key sponsors were heavily biased, already convinced that psychics existed-- and intended to prove such (violating basic scientific principle). A sample of their "psychic recruits" were a scientologist, a police officer who believed he was abducted by aliens, a man who believed that stage magicians bending spoons were really psychic, and a man who ranted non-stop about UFOs on AM radio. Almost invariably, the various test subjects' reports included huge amounts of junk data, indicating that they flooded their reports with as much as possible in a hope of getting something right eventually-- and then convincing themselves that they did predict it afterwards if there was a coincidence within that junk data.
It is not research worth citing. I've seen better research done on fething homeopathy, despite the fact that homeopathy provably doesn't work.

That is not relevant.
Someone having a PHD does not make them an expert in unrelated fields, nor does it indicate that they cannot be fooled by charletans-- or themselves.
Let me tell you a tale. Better yet, let James Randi tell you tale.

You are right, it is irrelevant, if you choose it to be...but the research occurred nonetheless, and statisticians, psychologists and the like from UC Davis, Oregon and Stanford reviewed it and summized that statistically the results for psi-probable activity were more common than chance.
But as you said, it means nothing if you believe they are corrupt. Now we've got a conspiracy!
karandras15 wrote: You are right, it is irrelevant, if you choose it to be...but the research occurred nonetheless
So did the research on the matchbox.
karandras15 wrote: But as you said, it means nothing if you believe they are corrupt. Now we've got a conspiracy!
That is the essence of your argument, yes.
But I have disputed that argument this entire thread, and asked you to provide evidence of such.

Evidence of what? That the government conducted decades of research on psychic phenomena?
I never disclosed anything beyond that. The posts from the get go in this thread were speaking as though "psykers" were a fairy tale...meanwhile the government and universities have been studying people that could fit the description for nearly a century.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Whether you or I choose to believe any of this is here nor there...
But the federal government sure put some cash into it, along with Doctors from various fields, military quacks and massive federal defense contractors.

Which means nothing. Evidence, there isn't any.
My government and employer (a very large pharmaceutical company) put a hell of a lot of money into cancer drugs, which turned out to be useless in clinical trials. Does that mean that they're actually covering it up? Or does it simply mean they followed lines of evidence until they ended with nothing?
The only conclusion you can come to with the statement I quoted is that many people want to believe in psychics have positions of high power.
Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...
