So...with marker drones being needed for this army..does GW make models for it? and where/how do you get these models?

GW doesn't sell separate marker drones. You can either get them as part of a kit or by the gun drone pack and convert.

So what kits provide marker drones...and...how would you convert marker drones?

Stealth suits do.

Buy a set of gun drones and slap some bits on so they look like that. Voila!

The new pathfinder kit also comes with parts for one

Christ, where do you buy your turnips?

You could just find the marker drone bits and buy them that way. It's cheaper than a full stealth suit box, if you aren't using the stealth suits. Still, a squadron of 12 marker drones will cost a pretty penny. Frankly, any Tau player worth their salt has a good 20-30 spare gun drones lying around. There's a conversion guide for marker drones over at ATT:

Forgeworld has em but a little too pricey for my taste. Good stuff though

Normal Marker Drones don't have burst cannons. That said, you get one Marker Drone per Stealth Suit or Pathfinder box, and the Pathfinder box also comes with 10 separate Markerlights, so it should not be too hard to convert them onto Drones if desired.

There are a wide range of sensory bits you can use from crisis suit kits as well. Just stick them on any random drones.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

He's got a good point. Just glue extra bits you get from most tau kits on and they should be good to go.

Yeah, I've always just cut the underslung part off of one of the carbines that come on a gun drone and replaced the other gun with a Target Lock or other space Crisis Suit bit. Shield drones are easy too - just glue a Shield Generator to the bottom of a drone and drill a hole for the clear plastic peg. Now to make some Missile Drones...
