Wish I had the money that that kind of sacrifice could be fun. As it is, I almost burst into tears, wishing I could of spared that poor mini that fate...turned him to Chaos in the end but spared that fate.

I didnt like the model and it was all done for amusment.
He was just sat in my bitzbox and I had used him as test model for long time. Its ok people. I actually do like the finecast.

Dude, but you seriously wasted a great model that you could have sold or given to somebody new to the hobby. Instead, you melted it like a little green toy soldier with a magnifying glass.

Definitely don't do it inside if you do it again, those fumes are probably really bad for you. I think if you go to do it again, try to keep it standing as long as it can. If it tips over, try to stand it back up without damaging it further.
Would get a nice "Nooooooo!" pose going.
If you do end up doing plastic, those fumes are apparently toxic so be careful with them.

His model, he can do whatever he wants with it. It's now basing material or an objective marker.

That horrendous fate has actually given me an idea of creating some terrain from semi-melted metal space marines. (and it'll be about the same prive as GW terrain too, so hopefully the intarwebz won't get all up in my gak about it. )
Honestly, I'm not sure why everyone is making a big deal about it-his model, his money, his time. If he felt it wasn't a waste of any of the above, who cares? Personally, I got a mild chuckle, as I was reminded of taking a lighter and a can of Axe to poor old knockoff GI Joe in college. Of course, HE ended up as ashes, so you're a bit off from my pyrotechnics. He also said it had been used as a test model for many paint layers, which are visible towards the end of the video. And he may have used the body to become area features of a volcano world-which could be quite cool. World ain't ending, now is it?
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I can't actually think of anything meaningful that can come from the video being posted. 'Finecast melts' is the only information we get, and it's hardly ground-breaking news.
