Oh ok
I think that that is an impressive feat in its own right. The Warmaster, who holds the might of 9 Traitor Legions together by his charisma and will alone, forced to act against a former weakling.
That part yeah, maybe, or at least a show of strength, doesn't Magnus comment beforehand how strong Lorgar is now? Maybe it is posturing on Magnus part, having been surpassed by Lorgar?
Now he is, but not at this point if we're referring to Aurelian, aren't Magnus and Angron to though? I thought Magnus ascended to Princedom at the battle of Prospero?

This is contradicting...I think Angron was the first to go into deamon-hood and Magnus was just without a physical body here....Also bare in mind he is still neutral (doesn't go traitor right before prospero had fallen)...

I was under this impression as well, i thought if magnus had become a daemon prince it would have been a bigger deal like angrons drawn out transformation and bloodletting. Obviously not the exact same but something more along those lines.

Anyhoo, would being a Daemon Prince be a bonus or a disadvantage? I can see those that wouldn't like following Daemons, the Night Lords for one.

But hasn't he realised that either way he is doomed at this point so just gets on with it, he's had he chat with Tzeentch in his tower at this point and then descends to confront Russ? He was kinda forced into it and didn't have much choice, he had been shafted by Tzeentch already big style.

Also according to "Betrayer" Magnus went into traitor ranks completely neutral, from the safe distance, and he wasn't forced into anything....and probably knows who fisted his arse.....

That's why I don't pity him....
I mean forced by Tzeentch, Magnus didn't have much say in it in the end, it had already been determined for him.

I've not actually read Betrayer yet so I am a little in the dark here
I assume he means at the point of Angel Exterminatus but that's a good point, it would depend on when Horus fell.

Hm, I think Slaanesh guards his own prince charming ? Like other Gods do....My theory....

Fair enough. To put it simple, Magnus visits Lorgar quite a few times for talky time. Every time he does this it's clearly stated and even pointing out the details of how clearly he is projecting himself through the warp to appear there.

Lorgar had been attempting to psychically duel Magnus for the duration of the conversation, with Magnus unwilling to fight his brother. Notice that, while Lorgar was in the process of psychically attacking Magnus, the very moment Magnus grew tired of Lorgar's internet tough guy act, he overpowered him and ceased it.
And Magnus did this while creating and maintaining a psychic avatar to be physically present, which by Magnus's early words to Horus requires a great deal of power. ADB, in typical ADB fashion, is ignoring the work of other writers to tell the story he wants to tell. He doesn't care that the point of A Thousand Sons was that Magnus is resigned to his Fate in Tzeentch's plan, he thinks it is far better for him to still spend whole books whining that he isn't sure if he wants to rebel or not.

I' really hate when primarch has a multi - personality brought by different authors; for instance :
Mcneill made Magnus (who mocks Lorgar ) and Perturabo bf, while ADB made Lorgar and Magnus bf...
Perturabo and Lorgar have the most different sets of personality IMHO...
So spot the gimp in the story...

Magnus used a name which the Word Bearers themselves use as a term for their Primarch. Nowhere does the narrative make it clear that Magnus was mocking anyone.
One of the reasons Lorgar likes Magnus is their debates on the nature of the universe, faith vs. reason, essentially.
Magnus didn't mock Lorgar on Colchis, he was very hesitant and careful in his speech, trying not to upset the already-panicking and distraught Lorgar.
Lorgar is a scholar, lol, just like Magnus and Perturabo. Religion does not preclude being a scholar, and indeed, during the Dark Ages, both aspects of a man were often hand in hand.

The Wolf is too busy cutting off heads as our father’s executioner, while the Lion holds on to his secrets, and has no special fondness for you. Who else will come? Not Ferrus, certainly.
