I've seen some tournies stream games on twitch before and was wondering if people would want to see anymore of game play as it happens instead of a batrep. Im thinking about starting to do something of the sort to have fun with my friends bit still get the game out there to people. I would dona set time ever week with diffrent armies hopfully fully painted. Also could do some fun things like forum picks the armies they want to see battle each other. possibly if we get enough followers I could do give aways in the stream. What do you all think? Would you watch it?

I might give it a look.

It would depend on how entertaining the players were also, though. Some of the games i've watched have been great to spectate, while others were about as much fun to watch as a tax audit.

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

The problem with this is certain parts are not that interesting.

Batreps skip certain thing that the audience doesn't need to see such as; you moving 2k points worth of guard/orks, your rolls for certain things, you and your opponent arguing for 20 minutes about rules, you sitting there waiting for your opponent to come back from the bathroom.

If you were set up to do it efficiently, a live batrep might be entertaining, but more than likely will have large gaps of boring content.

Me and my friends, who would be doing this with me, have played in many tournaments and have played in GTs for a while so we know the rules fairly well and we are use to playing at a good speed. Also I was thinking of bringing in 1-2 other people to commentate on the match and interact with the viewers while this was going on. So its not just 2 people playing a game and the viewer just sitting being lost most the time.

A regular battle report would be so much better than streaming unless you are world class comedians. As said above the batrep gets rid of the stuff no one is really interested in. You and your friends are just not going to be all that entertaining.

Check out the battle reports by oncebitten on youtube. Those are really good and if you can match the quality of those it would be a great start.

A live game? I'd give it a try and watch you. Depending on the armies and the players involved, watching can sometimes be almost as fun as playing.

I've seen a couple on YouTube with live commentators (Doesn't WGConsortium do them, occasionally?) and it's almost always annoying. I would much rather watch a video batrep with time lapses and arrow overlays and such.

JWhex: could you link me oncebitten youtube channel so I can see them I tried looking for him and could find him.

DA SPEED FREEK: I know what you mean and Ive done batreps before, Also If im doing this Im going all out on it. im just seeing if anyone would watch it.

Lynata: I agree with you not everyone wants to see Space Marines every batrep, I really want to play with the new tau on there so people can see how they are doing and people can get a first hand account on how the riptide will work. I also have Chaos SM, Ultramarines, blood angles, Daemons, Guard, Spacewolves Eldar, Greyknights, orks and Tyranids I can play with.

Matney: WGConsortium did do a couple and they didnt turn out well.

I really have no problem with doing Batreps again, I just wanted to see if this could be a thing to do. I work for a company that all we do is stream games and Im doing the research on it now to see if it is worth my while to do so. If I have to Ill just go back to batreps and maybe do a 1 day every 2 months special streaming day with prize give aways.

Personally, I don't mind Space Marines - as long as the opponent isn't SM too.

I believe in an issue of WD this was once called "Blue on Blue", and was said to be something that Marine players suffered from the heaviest, given that SM are the most popular army.
