There are a LOT of EB pledges though, so hopefully as long as you get on reasonably quickly, you should be alright, I imagine. Unless this thing goes crazy very very quickly of course

Wow, get the early birds guys! There's a lot of them, but the non-EB pledge (normal Core set) is almost twice as much... 62 pounds versus 110 pounds

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Well geez, having seen the Anime Wars board I went ahead and upgraded to the EB x 2 pledge. There's a lot less of the multiple board pledges and 22 of the 100 "EB x 2" pledges are gone already.

If you're on the fence and just want to nab a spot, those are the ones that will go much more quickly (not the single EB pledges).

I'll admit the Dropzone board looks good, and is easily the best of the batch. The scaling for it makes the overall lack of depth not stand out as much. If I played DZC I'd likely pick one up.

But I stand by my earlier comments on the other boards though. The Anime Wars board looks like it'd make great wall covering on a budget sci-fi set.

The invalid trademark terrain additions have nice depth and detail to them (And curves!), its a shame the boards don't match up.

I agree that the DzC board is the best, which is one I'll be getting! Followed closely by the Anime Wars.

I think the Anime Wars one would be great for Infinity- we've been playing it on green mats, if I can get another local player in for the Anime Wars board we'll have enough for three 4x4 tables, which is the most we usually use for Infinity nights.

I pledged for two boards. Definitely want the DZC board, undecided on second at the moment, but too good to pass up. Well done G&G!

If you can keep your head, while all about you are losing their's, then you have probably completely misunderstood the situation!

I love the Dropzone board but I don't play anything in that scale. If it came in 15mm, I would be all over it.

I would like to see how it works scaled up to 28mm, too. Just saying "like the 10mm, but with wider roads" doesn't quite cut it. I'd like to know how much space is left for buildings and stuff when the roads are that much wider.

The sci-fi Anime board looks fine at first glance but has poor functionality. The design just doesn't look like a good foundation for most buildings. Some of the area looks fine as the interior of a cargo bay or something, but I just don't see any structures except cargo containers make sense on top of that design.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

Just asked the elephant in the room:

In regards to your answer to DAVID's question, it's an OK answer for now. The issue is what happens to the city blocks when you make the roads that much wider and you extend the roads by 6"; is there enough room to actually put full buildings and ruined buildings ALA 40K style in such confines?

Yeah, they're basically scaling up the DzC design, which is probably why it wasn't as ready since Hawk Wargames made the DzC design and probably had to modify it for them to scale up.

Answer from the comments:

LoL No worries William, If you look at the Boards as they are now. The 28mm has like 1-2 roads accross one section and one road across the other. So 6-12" of one side is 1-2 roads. And 12-24" around it will be pavements. So a good reference would be the ANMA boards. Roads in that board are 6" wide.

Backed at EARYL BIRD level for the Anime Wars battleboard as a base for all the Infinity terrain that I have received/will be receiving from various KS/IGG projects.

The others I have covered by Secret Weapon for the city scape (obviously not for the same price point, but I think the price difference shows). I already have a Zuzzy cobblestone mat, although the Anima Battle board does actually look pretty solid from gaming distance.

I'm really not sure that they've overcome the limitations of their medium for the Hellscape.

Just noticed that they come pre-painted?? Not sure how I feel about that.

I'm pretty happy about the pre-painted part, particularly if those hazard stripes come out nicely on the Anime Wars board.

I'm like you in not needing the cityscape- I'll be receiving one from Warsmith's warboard campaign.

But I will be getting this one in the DzC scale, because it's pretty much perfect for that game since they worked with Hawk Wargames on it . A local friend is getting a set, too, so we'll have three 4'x4's to use at the store.

These are very tempting indeed. If I didn't already invest in the cardstock cityscape in the meantime (along with some plastic covers to keep them in place) I'd have hopped on to it right away. I might still later on so I'll be staying subscribed to this thread. Thanks for offering early bird pledges as well as I think that is a nice touch and shows appreciation to the early/long standing fans.

What I'm interested in knowing is if we can add a third board to it for another £62 i I have a bit more to spend at the end of the campaign or via PM later on. Because if I can add another £62 or even £124 than I likely will, but if it's going to cost an extra £95 each, well, then I won't be doing that.

In for 2 as perfect for my DzC needs and then will decide which other I need.

Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis

....aaaand the double sets are gone!

Which now means many people will go in on one set rather than two. Time for G&G to let people know if they can double up on a one-board pledge, or they're leaving a lot of money on the table...

Automatically Appended Next Post:
So they got back to me:

No sir, you would have to revert to the core price discount which would be 95.00GBP for the third board. We would Kindly suggest to for you to look at the Early bird x3 pledge and invest it that sir. Which will give you what you want. Hope this is ok.

Just to make sure I haven't assumed/imagined this, there are other table types to be unlocked aren't there? Not just additional tiles for the ones already announced?

That's very theoretical since ~1500 backers will be needed just to unlock all the tiles for the original themes.

I imagine that would come only after/if they unlock additional tiles for the 5 existing themes (6 if we count the 28mm roads as separate from the 15mm. They'll be funded at £35k, with the listed three stretches being for boards at £45, £55 and £65. So from that we can extrapolate another £10k each for them to be done, so I'd say at least £100k before any new designs are unlocked.

Yes, I see that now.

Hmmm, can't help wondering if a more neutral board might not have been a better option for one of the initial designs in that case.

I'm excited to get the daemon world one as a daemons 40K player (and to have my bases make sense in the context of the table for once!) but "generic 6x4 board suitable for nearly all games" might have been better than two scales of the same board, even though I see the appeal.

Anyone else thinking about how they could possibly combine the Anime board with the Battle Systems Terrain?

It is by no means perfect but I like the idea of having an indoor area on a larger board.

Just butt them up against each other for sci-fi ship interiors. Use the BST ground-level stuff on the Anima board for rooms, corridors, etc and the BST board as the cargo hold. Add shipping containers from Rust Forge inside the hold and you're set.
