I see U/A around quite a bit, what does that mean? Also is their a downside to going Jack heavy? I love setting up big turns with Heavy Jacks, third game I played I blitzed down a Carnivean from full health to dust in one turn.
Some units have a Unit Attachment or Weapon Attachments, which are options to add to a unit. U/As are things like the Errants Officer and Standard, or the Attendant Priest for Mercenary units working for us, or the Zealot Monolith Bearer. Not every unit has a U/A, in fact most don't. Menoth does not have any W/As at the moment, but things like flame-thrower guys for Assault Kommandos or Brute Thralls for Mechanithralls would be examples of them. The attachments are usually bought as a separate blister from their main unit.
As for Jack heavy, as a faction we can go pretty jack heavy, but infantry can be quite useful for helping deliver your jacks safely into combat. If your opponent has some movement shenannigans (and there are a lot of movement shenanigans in this game), you can easily find your jacks out there on the front line can get easily picked off in the Alpha Strike, and if you lose a couple it can be difficult to recover. Infantry can help stop that by screening your jacks so they can be delivered into position. They also lighten the Focus load a little, of course.
We can definitely go very Jack heavy, you just have to have a plan for overcoming fast enemies and getting past enemy infantry.
eFeora works very well for that, as her feat and bond (if on a redeemer/judicator) allow her to fry enemy infantry very easily, while she also makes her Battlegroup faster, so they don't have to worry about her jacks being alpha-struck so much. Reznik likes a few heavies with him, but generally likes a bit of infantry to take the charge and screen his battle group. A unit of infantry is also a great target for Ignite, as it can benefit the entire unit, which gives a much bigger return on focus than buffing a single jack (though an Ignited reckoner is nice for taking on very heavy targets).
