Maybe a strong orange, against the muted yellows?

@graven, good idea , it was my thought this morning after looking at he models with fresh eyes.

Well I decided to try orange, especially as the infected peeps have orange suits. That way it looks like the base or sector they all are from was the orange sector and these corporate scumbags just showed up to clean up their mess.
So orange shoulder pad, and captain model Kara black



Kara has a bionic right arm which totes an energy pistol and a power sword. Not happy with the skin tones to her face, then again the models faces in this material really aren't very defined.

Also started one of the other strain variants. Not too happy with the final color patter as I overdid it on the hazard stripes and it looks like a wasp

And it's almost entirely encased in the armor so very little flesh exposed, but when your a ninja wassp assassassin with a butt like this

When I saw this image my first thought was the marine saying "By the Emperor! Another Woman!" and the strain chick sarcasticly saying "Holy a wall!"

Honestly I like how the wasp lady looks.

By the way how many of each strain figure come in the sedition wars box?

I too think the wasp look looks good... and that model has a strong =][= vibe to it...

Once I order and get my set, and then later mix in deadzone, I will make some fluff up about the why and wherefore for this "infection" and try it's PoV

@shaso, when you order deadzone get the box set, the separate use book doesn't have any info for building the gangs , you need the card sets for the gangs to be able to calculate a team.
@vik, the sword is straight gunmetal, its just the cast o he sword that's throwing the look off.

Well I'm liking the orange color now that I'm home from work. Also tossed some more paint, this time on the doctor figure.


Gave him yellow gloves, thought about doing the orange gloves with the biohazard symbol, but went with the yellow scrub gloves instead. I should have spent some time scraping mold lines on him because they are terrible, but this is number 1 of 3 right now so no too concerned. From the few quotes about him I've read, he's a real a hole , I think I'll call him Greg House .

I find your choice of Orange to be most excellent. Does, that make the girl next to House Cuddy (or perhaps Cutty)?

Cutty it is then , she always seemed to be one hand short too. (Not being able to handle house). Now how do I paint one with an Australian accent?

Miniaturemarket.com $39.00 is probably as cheap as you'll find it. I think they have free shipping around $100, and plenty of other good stuff there too.

Those are some impressive minis once painted up!

@dsteingass, YOU LIVE glad to see you at least lurking about more, how's the lady doing since surgery?

Well short night of sleep. One of the older ladies on the night crew was having chest pains, luckily were not to far from an emergency room....like 30' . When I left she was doing fine, I'll get updates tomorrow when I'm on my first of my every other week six day stretch . But there's light at the end if that tunnel as I have 10 or 11 days off after that, and the wife is out of town for most of it so no nagging about "we never do fun things" . I'll have the kids, and they have doctor Appointments and sports to go to, but great painting times and hopefully my dreadball haul shows up while she's gone. The fewer questions the better .

In the mean time today I got a little done. I wanted to see how the fifth stage strain would look painted up Iron Warriors style. It's a long process with multiple layers of washes to get the metal color I want. So here he is with a layer of purple, blue and black on. He has since gotten a second black wash.

Also did the male soldier, female for comparison, I'm liking these figs, except for the mold lines .

And the strain wants o know if this hot makes its butt look big

that strain looks a tad weird... will it get some arms later on or will it mule kick it´s opponent to death?...

while the female bum looks gorgeous... I have to say the male one looks as if he is wearing diapers?

but the painting is still exquisite

We can only tell gender by butt. Excellent.

I know I have picks of it with arms somewhere, just can't find them . One arm is a gun that reminds me of the tau rifles. The other looks like a pine cone. I'll try and get it retaken later, going out with the family now.

You could always add a thin watery coat of metal afterwards...

They are looking really cool Theo. For the one with slightly darker armour you could do some scratches on with the original metal colour.

@giraffex. Welcome back, thanks, but there was no metallics used, I'm using a technique nerdfest09 used on his Ferrus Manus to get a metallic black, I just went tooooooooooo far.

Just got to work, raining and traffic along with wife arguement , no fun fir theo today.

I'll have to either redo the whole model or reliant areas white and relayer. I think starting from scratch will be best and leave more details showing. I'll check back around dinner time to see other threads, lots of awesome happening everywhere this week.

But as I am planning to make the Strain+Plague a totally foreign force, my minis will get different treatment from Theo, so they will work nicely.

Have to work on the human forces as integrateable and interchangeable

Those customs bases have straight sides, not slanted? Sign me up. I hate slanted sides. I find them impossible to pick up.

Sorry for the quietness, haven't made it to my paint/model desk as the Friday from hell continued the rest of the night and topped off with me pulling a muscle in my left foot an hour before I left work. I gimped the rest of the night, and woke up in terrible pain Saturday. Kept it elevated all day and ibuprofen was my closet friend . Still worked last night, after the first hour my leg was numb. Thank God, today is day three of six before vacation, just trying to survive until vacation which is just a kick back and relax time, but the steps downstairs are too daunting for me to travel on this foot.

Remember the recommended dose for Ibuprofen? Here's a dirty secret. The prescription strength stuff is just double the regular dose. So 4 pills instead of 2. Just make sure you have some food in your stomach first.

I'm a BIG boy, I take four at a time , my container says no more than 6 a day , I did that before breakfast yesterday . I just make sure to have enough water and if I start feeling a little off then I switch to aspirin the rest of the day and I make it through.
