Subject: Urban Dead: More zombies needed in Mitchem Mall megabattle!
It's all good. We came to Mitchem for XP and that's exactly what we are getting.
As expected, they defended the mall in force.
I'm sure they are taunting us from their castle ramparts:
But it's only a flesh wound. We'll be back.
Tomorrow, we should get everyone back to zombiehood and check out the ruined buildings to make sure that Ling, Pilyer, Attrill, and Bubcar are still ruined. That's a job for the zombies with Lurching Gait.
I'll check Ling. It is the farthest distance.
Can someone check the warehouse or the junkyard to see if they are entry points (less than Heavily barricaded)? We should probably ruin them if they are entry points. That would trap the humans outside when they hop out of the highly fortified buildings to attack us.
EDIT: Lights just came on at the junkyard so someone is there.
Buildings with these barricade levels make good human entry points:
Loosely barricaded
Lightly barricaded
Quite Strongly barricaded
Very Strongly barricaded
Attrill Bank is a good hiding spot to gain AP. It is ruined and dark. Humans will have a very tough time hurting anyone resting there.

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.
The problem is, even if we destroy their free-running routes, they can just go along the street level and go through the cades that we lowered to actually get into Mitchem, no?
But yeah, good days work I think. And them revivifying folks just gives everyone an opportunity to eat each other and gain even more xp!
Went really well IMHO; if people we a couple of levels higher, I reckon we could've taken Mitchem, so give it a bit of time and we could really have them on the ropes.

I escaped to Pilyer hotel, with not a scratch on my rotting hide! Hopefully I'll be able to recover some AP in safety here, seeing as the humans are concentrating on the mall.
And I'm up for the next assault - just point me at 'em!
Yes, destroying the free running routes only matters while Mitchem is barricaded at heavily and above, which it is right now.
We can make another run at Mitchem on Thursday. By then, we should have gotten everyone back as zombies with some AP saved up.
Or we could ruin the warehouse and Corless Bank to use as rally points/AP rest points right on the edge of Mitchem Mall. The bank is particularly useful since it will be dark when ruined.
The humans might let us get away with ruining any building around Mitchem except for Club Izzard. I don't know for sure. What did they defend with vigor other than the mall the last time you guys came this way?
Where's Benamint? He was part of that rampage.
It is all good as long as we are gaining XP and skills while ruining more and more of Vinetown.

Good! So Pilyer is still ruined?
Are you inside or outside?
The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.
Pilyer is already re-barricaded by the humans. I'm standing outside of it and the description is in the quote box below:
You are standing outside the Pilyer Hotel, a small grey-stone building plastered with posters. The building has been heavily barricaded - you can see no way to enter.
Somebody has spraypainted Bongzilla wuz here! onto a wall.
There is a lone zombie here. It's Patient 13.
There are three dead bodies here. You recognise Stimpleton and Shambling Wanderer.
That probably means that the other buildings are also restored.
This is Bubcar Towers:
You are standing outside Bubcar Towers, a four-storey metal-and-glass building split by a large, diagonal crack. The building has been very strongly barricaded.
There is a mobile-phone mast on the roof of the building.
Somebody has spraypainted kill rain 20 and do not revive onto a wall.
There is a dead body here.

They seem to protect Izzard the most heavily, then the two towers beneath and Quarman IIRC.
Thursday sounds good to me, us higher level guys can try and crack open the bank tomorrow?

Also, here's what I've calculated the attack percentages:
Claws (vanilla): 35% for 2 dmg = 0.7 dmg per AP spent
Claws (Death Grip): 50% for 2 dmg = 1.0 dmg per AP spent
Claws (Death Grip + Rend Flesh): 50% for 3 dmg = 1.5 dmg per AP spent
Bite (vanilla): 20% for 4 dmg = 0.8 dmg per AP spent
Bite (Neck Lurch): 30% for 4 dmg = 1.2 dmg per AP spent
So biting someone is a better choice when the options are vanilla; but Neck Lurch will give the most benefit as a single skill, however, the Death Grip + Rend Flesh route seems to be the highest overall damage output.

My general tactic FWIW is to generally use claws, but otherwise bite (and then infect) if I don't think I'll be able to finish them off, if I'm trying to infect everyone in a building, or if I'm trying to regain HP. I'd definitely recommend focussing on the claw-upgrades first, as they'll really help propel/snowball xp accumulation.

Yeah, biting seems to only be of real benefit (after a vanilla comparison) if you want to gain some HP back from Digestion, or if you want to Infect survivors that you can't finish off. It seems to me that biting each survivor once to Infect them will be beneficial in preventing them from rapidly re-barricading buildings, but claws is definitely the way to go for pure damage, according to the math.
If you want to complicate things, then ideally you want to hit with Claws (Death Grip, Rend Flesh & Tangling Grasp), then try to Bite (40% chance following Tangling Grasp at 4 dmg = 1.6 dmg per AP spent) in hopes of Infecting them, then moving back to Claws (60% chance at 3 dmg = 1.8 dmg per AP) to cause real damage.

we're not strong enough to spread out and hold ground.
I recommend that we concentrate on Corless Bank right beside Mitchem Mall and turn it into a nice dark ruined zombie base from which we can raid Mitchem SW as often as desired until we have become far more powerful.
No point in checking Ling or Attrill. I expect them to be rebuilt by the humans as well. They are as numerous as grains of sand on a beach.

Yes, it gives you the best attack in the game versus barricades (25%), which isn't saying much.

Because if not, then we're going to have to always ruin The Pilyer and Club Izzard in order to keep the mall cut off from free running routes to Ling and Gelasius

Jihadin, I'd save one AP to make an escape if I were you - saves on getting killed, which therefore allows you to spend the AP you'd need to stand up on the enjoyable alternative that is biting things!

Exactly how I find it. First Aid kits are plentiful to cure infection too, further supporting claw attacks. Infection seems to be more of a hindrance than a solution, sadly...
So yeah, good math - works out exactly like that in practice!
