How does this look for trenches. I still need to add some realistic water to a few recesses and a glaze over the wet road kinda things. Feed back please.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

Looking pretty good. I might mix up some glaze/water effects with some weathering powder to make some wet looking mud to just give the thing a little bit more variation in texture on some of the boards, but with the additions you suggest above I think it should look pretty cool without this extra step.

That actually sounds like a really good idea! Off to the store to grab some pippets to get the mix between the boards...

Somewhere in south-central England.

Personally I am not convinced by the cannon balls. They would work better with a set of 18th century gabions rather than sandbags. Modern looking ammo boxes would be a better feature for 40K.

Overall, though, lovely work! I'm loving the plastic mat texture, the PSP and the SF barrel.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Secret Weapon does some good stuff. Looking forward to seeing how yours turns out. I think it is looking really good so far.

Repifist, thanks!.

Jimsolo, I love SWM stuff. My Khador army is on the urban ruble bases.

So I added the gloss varnish to the road looking stuff so hopefully that will be good and muddy looking, I put some sickly brownish-green paint in the deeper recesses and put some real water in to give it that wet under neath the wooden planks look. Its all drying now. Should have some pics up tomorrow night.

I don't see trench. I see peer. It is well done, but not seeing what you want it to be. But I don't think a peer is a bad idea for a galleon either.

The cannonballs are ruining the trench look, for me. Get rid of them, add some ammo crates, add some more water effects, and maybe build up the sandbags a bit more and you've got an ace trench base!
