Works fine for me and I only use android tablets and phones. Try the opera mini browser or at least throw lego a bone with some info as to what exactly is a pain.

Well there don't seem to be mobile style sheets, I have to navigate around the site like it's Google earth.
Also the buttons and links are far too small. They need to be larger at the expense of text content, maybe even hide a few on mobile devices, but for the love of god it should not be so much effort to quote or skip to submit a reply

Bryll what setting is Dakka on?
Try the "Mobile friendly (lite dakka 2012) setting".

I only access Dakka via my mobile(Android) these days.
It is my understanding that Lego is aware the situation isn't ideal as others have mentioned it in the past. The work required to make the neccessary changes is substantial and isn't exactly at the top of the things to do list. There are more important things to deal with for the time being and he is only one man.
Not a very exciting answer but a realistic one.

I generally use the Mobile setting on my phone. The only problem I have come across is with a couple of the drop-down menus not working properly. If I want to use search, I generally switch to the white print-friendly theme instead.

Just to clarify my experience, I've seen no glitches or errors at all using the mobile theme on my android phone. The 'situation' I refer to, that I've seen others ask about and assume the OP is referring too as well, is that the website itself is not mobile friendly. Links are often too small and too close together among a myriad of other small difficulties. Lego definitely knows about that stuff but becuaseb it's just an annoyance it's not high on the list.
If the OP is referring to some glitches then ignore everything I've said.

Meh, I just zoom the screen in.

Same, it doesn't bother me whatsoever. Since I only use Dakka on my phone some other things can be a little frustrating but in the grand scheme of things it's no biggy. Improving and maintaining the website is far more important.

Well when i was maintaining a website I would appreciate any and all feedback on how it worked on a type of browsing device, so I am simply relaying the information that the site is not optimised for android phones, wasn't having a go or anything.
As I say, I think the best way of dealing with this would be to hide many of the buttons/options, and make the important ones a *lot* bigger, but I know that playing around with this would take up lego's time so I'm not being arsey about it.

We definitely need a more mobile / small screen focused version of dakka at this point, but dakka's design is very old and table heavy, so a simple CSS rejig is not enough. I welcome any custom versions of CSS templates people do as a starting point though. I will get around to it eventually, but as I have little trouble using it on any of my android devices (just zooming as others do), with the exception of gallery images which are properly broken on touch screens, as others say it is not a massive priority at the moment.
