I Think I have seen a image of a craftworld on a game table. Likely fan made, but it was large.

You could stage a multi-player, 5k+-points game of 40k on the hull of a Craftworld. The entire table is just a small section of these planet-sized ships.
In BFG planets are reflected with planet templates..about the size of a 40k blast template, so a average bfg tabletop set up is a few planets and some asteroid fields....a craftworld while being very huge is not the size of a solar system or even a large planet.
In one of the supplements they had a scenario involving a craftworld, and yes it was nasty, and had a lot of pulsar lances and attack craft, but the scenario had it moving from one point to another, to reflect it was heading towards a webway jump gate or something, and the attackers had to inflict enough damage to prevent this.
IIRC it had like 40 damage points or so, roughly 4 times tougher than a battleship , but was reflected by something using a battleship sized base.
We played it maybe once or twice, and I don't think the attacker was ever able to destroy the craftworld.
They're absolutely huge, and getting larger (as in, currently 10 to 100 times larger than when they were first constructed during the era of the Fall). This is why I said you could play a regular game of 40K with the surface of a Craftworld as your table... it's the same thing as deploying your armies to any other planet. That BFG has large pie templates to represent them is... good enough, I suppose, but is really out-of-scale for what a Craftworld is compared to an actual planetary body and an Imperial ship. A 5km-long Imperial ship is, for a ship, really big... but it's microscopic compared to a planet (the circumference of the Earth, by comparison, is ~40,000 kilometers)
As to their combat capabilities, I'd direct you to the Battle of the Blood Nebula from 5th Ed, where a single Craftworld destroys an entire battlefleet.

Inksoul wrote:Hi I am just starting to play battle fleet Gothic. My friend is building a craft world, and my other friend has the planet killer. Is there some lore on a super sized or super powerfull ship that in can make my own rules for. I am looking for a flag ship to center my fleet around. I just need some lore so I can base the idea and look off of it.
Any ideas?
The Ark Mechanicus ships are the single largest vessels in the Imperial-Adeptus Mechanicus navy. Even battleships are noticeably smaller than they are, and with the exception of World Engines and Craftworlds are on average the largest purpose built warships around. Typically single Ark mechanicus ships are capable of bulldzoing through entire enemy fleets without giving a single feth because not only are they substantially bigger than battleships, they also have all the AdMech's cool toys loaded inside. I'd venture to say that an Ark Mechanicus could take out Abaddon's Planet Killer (although given that Lunar Class cruisers gutted it without losses...)

All of that is wrong and made up.
The canonical information is given on the GW website:
http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m2350037a_BFG_Ships_of_Mars.pdf
An explicit example is given of an Ark Mechanicus and it is equivalent in damage capacity to a single standard Imperial battleship. Its firepower while benefiting from its special technology is still inferior in total weight of firepower compared to an Emperor class battleship's broadsides. Its broadside lances have range but are inferior in strength to that of a Navy Apocalypse class battleship or a Chaos Desolator class battleship. Its nova cannon is no more effective than the standard nova cannon.
In short, it is a nice battleship but certainly NOT capable of "bulldozing through entire enemy fleets". If people are going to debate the background, at least look up and cite the known information instead of just making up hyperbolic fan-fiction.

If it's big enough all it has to do to ruin a planet's day is park in low orbit and let gravity do the rest.

Well it is heavily armed and shielded, i read about a battle in the 6th DA codex where it arrived and completely demolished an eldar fleet. It also has the ability to dock the DA fleet so it has that going for it. I'd say that or the Phalanx are the most deserving of the title.

In the Priest of Mars, the Ark Mechanicus Speranza, does have some pretty insane weaponry, including gravity weapons that the mechanicus didn't even knew it was armed with. Also Ark Mechanicus are unique vessels so saying they are all the same and equivalent to a battleship is wrong, some might be purely combat orientated and other more for exploration duties. The Esperanza had the production capabilities of an entire forge world and had the docking potential to allow kilometre long vessels to berth alongside it, to name just a few of it's capabilities.
