Looks perfectly fit for purpose, if not particularly snazzy.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Very bland, not really in a good way either. Perhaps if the poster would have just come out and said these are mine we'd be more likely to give positive feedback.

Any way to see if crimsonmajick just happens to be from Winchester VA?

For the record I have met the guys at Daemon Forge. I have seen their terrain pieces and held them in my hands.

Not sure why it matters, but there you go!

Sorry, a cool name like Daemon forge and they come up with generic WW2 style defences...?

If this had been a daemonic barricade I might have been interested.

Greetings everyone!

I see someone beat me to the punch for posting on Dakka!

<--- Shane

I appreciate everyone taking a look at the Kickstarter and posting your thoughts on this thread. We are definitely looking for constructive feedback and new ideas.

First of all, @slinky - THANK YOU! We appreciate your support!

@grimstonefire - We have some other ideas in the works that may lean more towards your liking. I personally prefer more of the undead, graveyard stuff myself. We will get there!

@kroothawk - We are new so I can understand how the name may not stand out. My personal goal is to make sure you know the name Daemon Forge Studios so there is no confusion!

If any of you have questions or additional feedback please feel free to post here or send us an email from our website, daemonforgestudios.com .

Thanks for your time!

I think the would be neat looking Imperial Guard Aegis lines. Trench warfare type stuff from WWII or the Gaunts Ghosts books.

@Fragile - I think you are right! Imperial Guard is a definite fit. I have already used them for my Imperial Fist/Adeptus Mechanicus army and have gotten some really nice compliments.

I would humbly suggest that you specifically avoid generic fantasy/wargaming terrain.

That's all really.

Personally if I were running a terrain company I would 're-imagine' simple things in a highly themed way.

As an example, should you happen to be looking for inspiration, defences and fortifications are big in 40k, but the only ones for sale (afaik) are "imperial" themed ones.

What about eldar, ork or tyranid themed walls or tank traps etc???

Take that over to fantasy and it goes up a lot more. Elven (dark, high and wood), dwarven (a little more generic there), perhaps walls mades of bones. Or a forest of iron spiky trees etc for a chaotic battlefield.

A wall made of corpses would be quite fitting (and depending on how it was done could sell to multiple gaming systems).

Just one example, but more interesting than regular terrain that everyone makes.

@grimstonefire - I love it! Great ideas, some of which we have already kicked around and some that are fresh directions for us! We had a very similar thought to the corpse wall but had to go back to the drawing board due to ... trademark issues. Thank you for the feedback!

Nice ideas, Grim. Might make for some interesting stretch goals, or perhaps a good second campaign once this one is signed, sealed and delivered to backers. (maybe a better choice than over-extending yourselves and delivering 6-months late, as so many others have done).

As for the scenery on offer. Not bad. I don't dislike it by any means, and there's absolutely no reason Aegis lines should all look exactly the same as the official GW one. They do look like the sort of stuff I was buying 10 years ago though, and so I'm not sure if I'll be going in on this one.

Perhaps some visual representations of exactly what is included in each pledge level might be useful for potential backers as well.

Some advice though - back some other people's KS yourself, don't over-extend this one with too many stretch goals and expansions. You're better off doing a small KS like this to completion, then starting a second one for Orcish scenery, etc - which will also show that you can and have delivered rather than being just another pop-up start-up promising the world with little to show for it previously.

Best of luck here gentlemen, I'll keep somewhat of an eye on it.

@azazelx - I appreciate the advice! You summarized our thoughts succinctly. We have a few pieces that we are considering for stretch goals, but we aren't going to put up anything for pledge that we haven't already produced and tested. We want a successful track record and are doing everything we can to avoid the pitfalls you described. I see, and our backers should expect, some of the ideas described by Grim (some of which are in the works) as a second Kickstarter, not as stretch goals for this campaign.

Welcome. I'd also recommend spending a bit of time on places like Dakka, BOLS, BoK, etc. Many of us are much more likely to trust people who are part of the community. I'm not suggesting that you guys start to live on forums, but more community interaction is always a good thing. It's on the same lines as backing some other KS projects. There's about 14 Kickstarter projects just on the first page, and we do get a lot of creators who turn up for the first time, post once or twice, (when they're asking for our money), then they're pretty much never seen again. Even Mike McVey and Rick Priestly did this. Neither has been since, of course...

I have to admit that I won't be picking up any of these fortifications, but mostly because I play Blood Angels, and I prefer to be in the face of my enemy, not wait for them to come to me.

I like the look and the built in bases, as opposed to the ADL that always looks... unfinished... no matter how well it is painted.

Any thoughts on adding a custom quad gun?

Just got done updating with some more pics and pledge levels!

@crimsonmagic - A custom quad gun is something we are working on. No timetable for it, so no promises for this Kickstarter.

@azazelx - I have to admit I have trolled the boards here for quite a while, but never posted on anything. We are here to stay, so be careful what you wish for...

At least you get fortifications. Tyranids got the shaft on that.

I don't want to hear about Tyranids. Blood Angels can't seem to outshoot OR outmelee bugs. Thinkin' more Fragiosos!

I might have to think about getting this stuff & setting up a defense line with devs, vindicators, etc.

It matters because it tends to be seen as a little dishonest when companies set up sockpuppet accounts to spruik their own wares rather than just being open about who and what they are. Dakka has no rules against companies sharing their own products. There is no need to create dummy accounts to do it, so doing so does more harm to your cause than good.

It's nice. I think it's generic appearance is it's strength, it allows for it to be used in multiple games with multiple ranges.

I think we've all become so used to overly busy nonsense covered in skulls that we forget that this sort of thing is actually good, can be built on as a basis and is certainly excellent for store or club table terrain for ww2, weird war 2, 40k and a host of other systems.

Good for you, nice simple stuff.

I like them for their simplicity- no skulls, no mounds of dead guardsmen, etc. Is there any chance of those hedgehogs being available seperately, or of a 'Anti-Tank bundle' of teeth, jaws, and hedgehogs?

That's a pretty impressive list . I was going to add in Warhammer Forge, but I guess they would simply fall under Forge World
