In a recent game this came up, I had a Tervigon with iron arm cast on it (rolled, got +1 str) and I assaulted a squad of Leman Russ tanks. Does hammer of wrath hit at strength 5, or 6. The people in my play group said str 5 because they claimed Iron Arm is a modifier, but on the rule book page about modifiers it said wargear and special rules. So, does Iron arm count as a modifier? or is it like putting a Wolf lord on a thunderwolf mount whre he just becomes S5 T5. I know this may appear to be a pretty noobish simple questio, but I felt like I should ask. Thanks in advance.

Hammer of Wrath uses the S value in the stat line in all but one case (Baron Sathonyx). This has been ruled upon in the Eratta/FAQ.

Tervigon's Hammer of Wrath is always S5.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.

I thought a wolf lord gets + 1 str and toughness. The bracketed toughness would be 5 from that point on but the str is a + 1 so with a fist for example he would go str8 +1. This because its ought as war gear and the bonus is added in ?

You'd count as the modified strength. It's not a piece of gear increasing your strength, or some bonus from charging that modifies your attacks. It's modifying your base stat. A power fist, for example, won't modify your strength when taking a strength test. However, Iron Arm will.

You should re-read Hammer of Wrath.

Power fists DO modify your Strength for the purposes of your attacks. Likewise Iron Arm modifies your Strength for the duration of the power.
Floating modifiers in brackets have been done away with as can also be seen in Toughness on bikes, it's all base modifiers now.

The only possible counter to this is that psychic powers aren't mentioned for Hammer of Wrath. Of course, neither are Chaos Boobs. RAI could easily go either way.

Not that they need to be since it does say "unmodified" which is pretty unambiguous.

This question is easily answered by reading the hammer of wrath rules.
