From a conversation I had with one of the sculptors (Name escapes me, he was immediately to the right of Trish Carden, It might have been Kieth Robertson), they hope to be able to make a model for every unit in Monstrous Arcana, but that there are issues with some of the concepts (Making the giant globe not be horrific to assemble, whilst not being a solid chunk of resin for example) so it will be a fair while before the larger and more complex stuff is released.

I really want that squig for my smurfs.. and the other new night goblin stuff too :( I just know I'd be wasting my cash right now because I'll never get around to painting it. Too many minis and not enough time these days.

There have been pics of a Taur'Ruk for chaos dwarfs floating about in the wild. Looked completed, so hopefully that gets released.

They're planning on doing one, but they have quite a lot of models from the monsters book to get through, and the Khemric Titan is one of the most complex due to the spherical nature of the globe.

Empire Command Set
Officers in the Empire can vary in prowess on the battlefield, in the authority they project and the tactics they employ. Noble born officers are trained from youth in swordsmanship and hunting, while others make their way up through the ranks, having once fought shoulder to shoulder alongside the men they now lead.

The Empire Command Set, designed by Steve Whitehead, contains three multi-part resin models. Each character is packed with fine details, from the proud bearing of the officer and solemnly dutiful battle standard bearer, whose sun motif on his coat mirrors that on the banner, to the raving flagellant who sports nails piercing the flesh of his arms. This fantastic character set is available to pre-order now for despatch from Friday 26th July.



Dread Maw
With their circular mouths, studded with rows of sickle-shaped teeth, Dread Maws can seize and devour a fully armoured man in seconds. Often, smaller prey is swallowed whole, but even the largest creatures will fall foul of the Dread Maw's ravenous appetite. Bursting forth from beneath the ground and latching on with their hooked teeth, they can tear their way inside the greatest of beasts, eviscerating them from within and quickly hollowing out their ruptured carcass.

The Dread Maw, designed by Keith Robertson, is a multi part resin model that depicts the beast erupting from beneath the ground. The Dread Maw is available to pre-order now for despatch from Friday 26th July.

Dread Maw looks good, may have to get that one.

I'll pass on the Empire set. It looks nice, but doesn't really fit in with my Empire style.

Why does the Dread Maw look like it's coming up from between two Realm of Battle Boards?

Does anyone remember when these models were shown first? The completed Maw sculpt was shown 7th April on Forge World Day, so 3 months ago.

The dreadmaw looks alright, the command set looks good, a bit on the pricey side of life, but if they were sold as individual charachters they'd cost the same if not more.

I just want Mrs Troll.

I assume its because the ground that it is bursting out of is two separate pieces, so that the Dread Maws body can be painted separately from the terrain.

With a little work that Dread Maw could be converted into a Tyranid beastie.

Chaos Dwarf Bull Centaur Taur'Ruk is up:

Looks great... but not 30 pounds great for me, unfortunately. I'll be using the regular FW bull centaurs as my Taur'Ruks, and converting other models for my basic bull centaurs.

i think i might just like Taur'Ruk enough to drop 30 squids...
he's massive, and would make a good competition piece...

i really like the FW Chaos Dwarf style...

I agree, really love it... just wish it were cheaper! Argh.

Upon further reflection, I think it's my favorite model out of their CD range... and I really like the rest, except for maybe the Bull Centaurs. However, the Bull Centaurs have grown on me after seeing the Tau'ruk. They look good next to each other.

My Christmas list grows...

Now if they just release the Destroyer, then my Christmas list will be complete.
