Hey, did you guys ever post what the prizes are for these events? Not that you need more of a reason to attend than the fact that it's in Vegas but I was wondering.

Haha, no free buffets but, we have custom trophies for each of the "Best Of" awards for Fantasy, 40K and Warmahordes!

We also have custom trophies for placings, as well, as in best General, etc.

Lot's of goodies for various prizes, raffle prizes, all kinds of cool stuff!

The 40K Championships Grand Prize is legit! We are keeping it secret for now, though =)

Any nid player who makes the Sunday finals, with the New book, I will buy that 40ker a drink. **

And a good one, like a whiskey (Glenlivet). Not one of the stray cans of PBR that might still be floating around, nor a casino-watered down bev that gets schlepped to Blackjack tables.

Jy2 - you do drink scotch, right?
Blackmoor, you seem like a Cape Cod-vodka, kinda guy.
Cooper, what's your poison?

**
Hit me up on Saturday night, as I don't imagine you'd want Long Island Iced Teas or whiskey on ya when you're trying to win a GT

This is Brian Poole from the Wrecking Crew. I was in an accident and that $500 deductible is rearing it's ugly head. So I cancelled my trip to LVO since I didn't have a plane ticket yet and that was looking like $400. Anybody want to pick up my con badge and 40k Championship ticket for $70?

Edit - If you already have a con badge I will sell the ticket for $50. Please PM me if you are interested in either or both.

Here's some tips for the LVO and the 40K champs player packet if you want to print your out before coming or just look it over.

Im still confused about your missions. There are a total of ten points. SO I can get this clear lets take scenario 2.
Lets say for purge the alien I kill 6 to his 3, The means I get 3 points for winning Purge the Alien, but he has more in the Objectives, meaning he got 4 pts. But I have all the other 3 bonus to his none. leaving me with 6 for the scenario. You dont count the objectives nor the total killed? Just the set 10 points?

Think of them like 2 different games being played at once. It is exactly like you said in your example, you'd get 6, he'd get 4. If you both had warlord and linebreaker, but you had first blood, you'd tie 6-6.

Just pointing it out, sorry Reece. Like you need something else that you're going to order Frankie to go fix.

@Hot Sizzle

Dude_I_Suck explained it correctly.

@Brothererekose

Thanks, I fixed the wording. Haha, even though the math works out the same, that definitely wasn't the best way to word it. Thanks for pointing that out!

For the GT can i ally sentinels of terra, with codex space marine imperial fists?, also is there a diagram of the typical terrain layout for the tournament such as los blockers ruins ect... , I want to make sure im not playing on a firing range, and that i can hide behind some terrain.

@Fists

Yes, Marines can ally with Marines per their book.

No diagrams of terrain, sorry, we have such a wide variety of types of terrain that a diagram wouldn't do much good, honestly. And having a diagram wouldn't fix anything if it were a shooting range, anyway =P

The layout we are going for with each table is 2, large, LoS blocking pieces of terrain on each table, roughly 4 pieces of area terrain, and small pieces of varying types of terrain to fill gaps and close firing lanes.

We've been working damn near around the clock on terrain, i think folks will be very pleased when they see the tables =)

This wasn't helpful?

Oh, BTW:
I'd like to recommend a Turn 3 to Turn 4, "Seventh Inning Stretch" convention of sitting down for 5 minutes, swilling that beer. Kibbitsing about non-40k things (bitch about congress!) and then move on to Turn 4 and those objectives!

So i know table layout was already asked, but I am wondering what is extra space real estate looking like? Will i have room for setting down a display board? Just asking if it is even worth me bringing my display board(standard 2' * 2'). Thanks.

The link above *did* provide a link to a "Pro Tip section", which is recommendations on attending tourneys (Allan's link goes to the same place as the one I provided ) . Can't find the 'Pro tip' thing now, though ...

There is a section, or there was, next to the "'Nid lists that don't suck" links that talked about the benefits and detractions of Display boards. One statement saying that with the tables being end to end, there'd be no room for display trays.

Personally, I say bring your board for the paint judging portion if your army is likely to garner a prize. Even though the DB is not on the list to score points, it should help, as I'm sure you well know.

http://www.frontlinegaming.org/las-vegas-open/las-vegas-open-warhammer-40k-championships/

Once they've scored your army, then on Saturday, I'd leave it in your hotel room or car for whichever easier transport option you have.
