Hi Dakka,

Appreciate comments from GK players on the below list. Trying to be competitive without draigowing or henchmen spam (and I like the thought of dreds running around!)

HQ (150)

Crowe

Elite (225)

Vindicare Assassin
1 x Paladin Incinerator, Warding Stave (to keep crowe company)

Troop (320)
5 x GKSS Psycannon, Psybolt, Halberd x 2, Warding stave for Justicar
5 x GKSS Psycannon, Psybolt, Warding stave for Justicar

Heavy Support (560)
1 Dreadknight HI, PT
1 Dreadknight HP, GS
1 Dreadnought, 2 TL A/Cannon, psybolt

total 1255, so need to trim 5 points.

To escalate, planning to add terminators and paladins, (say to 1500) then add mech from there.

Comments, criticisms etc welcome!

Umm Crowe is bad unless your taking him to get Purifiers as troops. The Paladin can't join Crowe as he isn't an IC and he also confers abilities on the enemy in cc.

Take Coteaz he is better. You get 2 Div powers w/ him also and a 2nd chance to Sieze or stop your opponent from seizing.

You'd get 50pts back from going w/ Coteaz. and Warrior acolytes are only 4 pts each. Don't have spam them just get some to hold objectives.

I would also get 3 Serv w/ plasma cannons and maybe a jokeao to go w/ Coteaz if you can find the points.

If you dislike Coteaz go with a req Inq Cheap and has a bunch of cool options and you would have more points left over to use on other things.

The Twilight Zone

Psybolt ammo is only good for 10 man squads, be them pallys, purifiers, GKSS, terminators... Drop the psybolt unless you go full squads. Even in full squads psybolt is not required.

Nemesis force weapon upgrades are wasted on GKSS. The only ones to consider are a halbred on the justicar for challenges, and maybe a hammer in the unit for damage. Nothing else needed.

Heavy incinerators are usually better than the psycannons for the dreadknights. Greatsword and teleporter are also both good.

Crowe is a single model, and he is not an IC so he cant join the pally... solo paladins are ok, but not great. As said above, drop crowe unless you want to spam purifiers. The solo pally is not really doing much except providing a target.

You only have 2 troop choices, and they are 10 marines in power armor. After a single round of shooting you could be left without a single scoring unit. Look into another scoring unit or ways to access more scoring. Coteaz is absolutely criminal for how effective he is. Henchmen make good support and scoring troops(one or two units is not spam). Alternatively, a grand master can make other units scoring. Although a GM is not cheap, they can be made outright evil into their own right.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

Apart from the issue with Crowe which has been mentioned already I'd seriously the following:

• swap the incinerator on the pallys for a psycannon as psycannons and relentless go hand in hand, 4 psycannon shots every turn is godly! More so if you can squeeze a 2nd psycannon in!
• discard the warding stave on the pallys. It can be useful but it'll be very situational and won't be worth the points more times then none.
• with the strike squads you should try the pump them to 10 man squads before considering pay bolt ammo as you'll be getting more bang for your buck (no pun intended)!
• the halberds are good but I wouldn't worry about the warding staves on justicars as they'll be gone first to perils and that's just a waste of points. I'd stick a hammer or halberd on them for that extra kick.
• the first dread knight is good the second not so much. I believe the Heavy Psycannon improved in 6th though I've never tried it myself though the Gatling Psylinser is terrible. Unless you're set on trying it out I'd recommend on making the second DK like the first or swapping the GP for a HI.
• Dreadnoughts are Perfect!

Hope that helps!

Helps a lot, thanks. For the second DK, what about HI, GS? I had some advice that if I use GS I should really have a PT.

No worries there.

For the GS I can honestly say I've never used it but looking at the math it's not that good regardless of the PT. it may effect Greater Daemons better now (providing they don't have an armour save) but that's also very situational. Unless you'll be versing Daemons often I wouldn't even look at it. Just an example:

Gatling Psylincer:
12 Shots > average of 8 hits > average of 4 wounds > average of 1 kill verses Space Marines.

Sorry, I meant Greatsword when I wrote GS.
