I'm still not 100% sure why...but Fulgrim, I think one of the reasons is because I identify certain similarities between us, mainly the perfectionist traits that he has. Plus he and his legion wear purple trimmed with gold and the 80's rock white hair styles (have you seen how amazing the pre-heresy Emperors Children look with that Regal colour scheme of theirs?!)
I think Fulgrim's downfall in the service of Slaanesh is pretty fascinating too, I enjoy reading about him whenever I get the opportunity. Although the whole thing with Ferrus Manus was pretty tragic (which added even more to my interest in him after the remorse he shows,) it is pretty amazing that he manages to defeat not one but two other Primarchs too.
I find him the most interesting out of the Primarchs, he's the one that I like to sit down with a beer and read about on a sunday night before nodding off, he genuinely interests me.

Magnus the Red. For commanding awe-inspiring psychic power only the Emperor could outmatch. Magnus was always first among the Primarchs in terms of raw intelligence, and was certainly a scholar, but unlike Lorgar, he had the sense to realize that he was a warrior and general first, and did not neglect those aspects of his life. He has a lot of attributes I like in a male character, very tall and powerfully built, manly long hair, physically powerful, and I think Magnus more than all of them really demonstrated the Greek Tragedy aspects of the Primarchs. Magnus was truly great, and successful at almost anything he did. Yet this led to him becoming horribly arrogant, and his few shortcomings he concealed viciously, and in the end that damned both him, and a loyal legion.

Magnus is real cool also. in truth there's not a Primarch i don't like some aspect of. The Thousand sons are definitely prolly one of if not THE most tragic stories. Magnus and his legions never ending thirst for knowledge (Along with a re-written order from Horus. lol) drove them all to damnation. Really makes me wonder what would have happened had the wolves been unsuccesful and both legions had found out they had been manipulated (But that's a discussion for another thread. lol) Good choice though

For me - Kurze. He's seen the future and what happens the imperium. Then he tried to warn people but no one would listen. Star systems would cease revolution when he came near because they were so scared of him - this enabled him to quell rebellions without firing a shot. Not even Guilliaman could do that. So he was censured for ensuring everyone was scared of him. Then he blew his own planet up as a lasting example of what happens when you break his laws. He let himself be killed to prove a point. The fact he was a complete fruit loop is almost secondary...

Yeah, I'm sure legion wise, the Alpha Legion, and the Ultramrines are the best opposits of any of them. Where Gulliman prefers straightforward tactics, as simple and efficient as possible, Alpharius/Omegon think outside the box. Something Gulliman is VERY uncomfortable with and would have the hardest time adapting to. Despite the Word Bearers grudge agains tthem. I think the Ultramrines true enemies would be the Alpha Legion.

At the Council of Nikea Mortarion came off as a whining snivelly cry baby and his protestations that he just wanted to "save" his brother from damnation was laughable. He really was a big old fraidy cat about the warp, is the best thing you could say about him.
Kurze suffered the worst philosophical bankruptcy of his father "the end justifies the means", and he was an insane homicidal maniac.
All of the traitors had very flimsy reasons for joining Horus, except perhaps Lorgar. I really dont view Magnus as having joined Horus so much as just screwing up on a galactic scale and limiting his own options.

Lorgar may have fallen to chaos first but Lorgar did indeed join Horus. Horus was warmaster and had the loyalty of several other traitor legions. Lorgar had little more than contempt from the other legions. While Erebus manipulated and schemed in the fall of Horus, it was still Horus who held the reigns of power. Lorgar was barely in charge of his own legion and Kurze would have butchered Lorgar had Lorgar tried to order him around, same with Angron.
I know you just like to be contrary but why would you say that Horus joined Lorgar, that doesnt make any sense at all even as flame bait.

Worlds conquered by Guilliman were left far better off and with minimum collateral, he didn't destroy to rebuild, he built upon what was there, improved the world, then moved on. He had his own Empire of 500 worlds, he had entire planets dedicated to production for the XIII Legion in terms of troops, training and supplies. Guilliman might not have won the most battles, or conquered the most worlds, but he built an Empire, which was what the Crusade was for, then he held the Imperium together and left it in what he thought were capable hands. He was the ideal Primarch, not just a fighter, but a politician, soldier, General, Admiral, Monarch, leader, conqueror, loyal son and more analytic than most computers. That's how he was the most successful.
EDIT: And not to mention brawling with Angron and Lorgar, possibly killing Alpharius, inspiring extreme courage in all around him, and making Horus send two Primarchs to take him out the way so that he didn't stop the invasion of Terra.
I can accept him conquering more worlds than any other one primarch but more than the rest together that read like Mat Ward.

I pity Kurze too. He knows that what the imperium is doing doesn't work, because he's seen it with his foresight.
So he questions the empy's methods.
Dorn can't handle criticism of the emp in any way, so he starts having a go at Kurze on the field of battle, in front of his enemies.
Kurze then kills a man to prove a point which only exacerbates things.
Then Fulgrim tells dorn that about Kurze's visions and Kurze ends up imprisoned because of that.
Typing that out - thats it I've decided I hate Dorn. Everything is his fault! ...where's that other thread gone...
