This assumes a system is flawless, which is a ridiculous stance to take. If a system is designed to filter out 99% of something, you cannot claim that it fails when 1% gets through.
EDIT: but it is strange that non-citizens can apply for welfare... does the US have a status that's more than a tourist or work visa but not yet a full citizen?
Yes, permanent residency.

its also fair.
Permanent residents are taxed on worldwide income, like citizens by the IRS. So, as they are completely under the US tax envelope they should be entitled to access to the US welfare system.

My last comment was on the tax and benefit status of permenant residents in general, not just one dead jihadist.

Mine goes to that as well. Just because someone is paying taxes (theoretically) in a variety of locations doesn't mean the US taxpayer has to support them. Indeed if thats occuring and they've managed to get on welfare, then they are committing fraud and should go to jail, or worse New Mexico.

It could be they are just keeping their eye on too many people.
That said, I think we should deport anyone we suspect of being a radicalized extremist.
Can we deport the Westboro church people?

Ah. Much like Canada. As is right and proper, then.

Simple: you pay into the social net, you get the benefit of the social net. it's that easy.
...however, I'm curious. When a person is listed as a permanent resident, is that a tenuous position on the road to citizenship, or can you be denied citizenship and still stick around as a permanent resident? (if the latter, that's very odd)

The latter is what happens.
Some people choose to live here as foreign nationals, never becoming citizens. Others can't for reasons mentioned previously.
Yeah, its weird.

Refugee status. Its in the law to provide like 7 years of benefits. As for where the money comes from.......dead people SS accounts...no lie....no crap....I'm dead serious. They were granted refugee status...but their parents after a year went back and currently living there in Chechyena. Before people start flaming this. My wife a senior immigration officer. She is the one that has final authority on granting citizenship to individuals. Hence another reason why I have fire arms.
I want to make this very clear
I will not involve my wife in any immigration matter that arises from DakkaDakka No questions or clarifications.

Well isn't one of the reasons they stay and never become citizens because it's incredibly difficult to get dual citizenship in the US? At least that is my (admittedly limited) understanding.
